DEMOCRACY IS NOT A GIFT, IT IS A RESPONSIBILITY A message from Opuda (Alabo) Dumo Lulu-Briggs on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day. It is another democracy day when we celebrate the sacrifices of our heroes past in the enthronement and sustenance of democracy in our country. For us in Rivers State, democracy has in the last 27 years, since 1999, impacted us in different ways. It carried both promise and pain, sometimes in the same election cycle. But democracy is the only system where the fisherman in Bille, the market woman in Mile 3, the farmer in Emohua and the teacher in Bori has just one vote, one voice and one stake. Democracy is not perfect but it remains the best form of government. On a day like this, we only need to remind ourselves that power belongs to the people. It is a day to remind us that we own Rivers State together - Ikwerre, Ijaw, Ogoni, Etche, Ogba, Ndoki, Ndoni, Omuma, Abua, Ekpeye etc. Our founding fathers fought for the creation of this state so that we and our children can live freely, vote without fear, speak without threat, and build without being inhibited. Today, the disappointments and weariness in our people’s voices are loud and I understand it. My answer, and I hope yours too, is not to walk away but to reclaim what belongs to us. Our forebears fought for it and we must not trade that inheritance for division. We have the responsibility to protect and preserve our state. Rivers State sits on enormous wealth. Our waterways, our blue economy, our brilliant and restless young people who deserve better. Democracy becomes real when the right to choose, the right to demand accountability, and the right to know are guaranteed. On this day, I urge us not to give up but to renew our faith in the unity and progress of Rivers State. We will disagree without violence, we will compete without hate, we will protect our state, its people, its unity, its wealth and its future. Rivers State shall rise again. Happy Democracy Day. God bless Rivers State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Yours ceaselessly, Opuda Alabo Dumo Lulu-Briggs #DLBLegacy #NDC

This SBM's voter sentiment tracker is not just saying: Tinubu is weak and Obi is popular. Everybody in Nigeria already knows that. It is also quietly showing why & how Atiku is the spoiler. Tinubu enters the race with a brutal -58.5 net favourability. Peter Obi records +58.3, the only major candidate in positive territory. Obi leads in every zone except the Northeast. So where is Atiku? Hiding inside the ADC column. And what does SBM show there? Not national momentum. Not a mass movement. Not a countrywide wave. No. It shows a fragmented Northeast: ADC/Atiku: 23.1% APC/Tinubu: 17.3% NDC/Obi: 13.5% Undecided: 16.4% That is Atiku's lane. A regional pocket strong enough to split the anti-Tinubu vote in the Northeast, but not strong enough, from SBM's own public analysis, to look like the national vehicle for change. That right there is the textbook definition of spoiler politics: 1. Obi is the candidate with national positive sentiment. 2. Tinubu is the damaged incumbent. 3. Atiku is the third force that helps Tinubu by dividing the opposition field. Even SBM's analysis points to the same conclusion Reuters warned about earlier: a fractured opposition cannibalising its own votes. So the real question is simple: If Tinubu is weak and Obi is the only candidate with clear positive national sentiment, Why is Atiku the spoiler & vote divider still standing in the middle of the road??? When will Atiku stop working for Tinubu?

First of many SBM polls drops: @officialABAT at -58.5, @PeterObi at +58.3. But turnout flips the script. The real question? Will Nigerians brave hunger and bandits to vote? Stay tuned, this is just the first one. 🇳🇬🗳️ sbmintelligence.substack.com/p/the-sbm-vote… #NigeriaDecides2027 #SBMVST

The conclusion of the SBM Poll. Obi is in a better position now than he was in 2023. There’s more acceptance of his candidacy in the North. The issue for Atiku is that he does not command Buhari’s following in the North. As for BAT, he is seriously under water.

SBM polls also predicts the same outcome. Atiku leads in the NW while Obi leads in the NE, NC, SW, SE and SS. When we shared the Harmattan intelligence poll, the usual suspects were foaming at their mouths. Now SBM has done theirs. Tinubu is under water everywhere even in the SW

Despite Three Years of Tinubu's Food Emergency, Nigeria hungriest ranking index declined to among the worst nations globally. In celebrating his supposed successful three years in office, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu listed some achievements in the agricultural sector, firstly, his declaration of emergency on food security in July 2023, followed by the acquisition of 2,000 tractors and 9,000 farming implements, stated as Nigeria's largest agricultural mechanisation programme. Yet the outcome of this has been the opposite. Nigeria's hunger index has worsened significantly. Nigeria's hunger index ranking was 103rd out of 123 countries surveyed in 2022/2023, and this figure had since worsened to 115th out of 123 countries surveyed in 2025/2026. Consequently, Nigeria is now classified among the world's most hungry or food-insecure nations in the world, with the World Bank forecasting that 33 million Nigerians could experience severe hunger. In fact, Nigeria has the highest number of hungry people in the world. I have always maintained that Nigeria have no reason to be seen among the hungriest nations in the world when we have fast, uncultivated land in the north, which is our greatest asset today. We must transparently invest in Agricultural production, which will guarantee food security, but create huge employment. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Two solid polls out today. SBM Intelligence and Harmattan Intelligence and both of them point to an Obi Victory if all conditions stay the same. Obi needs BAT and Atiku in the race to win. This is his best opportunity x.com/harmattanintel…

The Agenda of the OK movement should be clearly spelt out. The issue of the party logo needs quick resolution and clarity. People really need to focus but everyone is just pursuing their personal agenda of getting party tickets to run for elections.

Sen Rufai Anga didn't get return ticket to Senate. But he remained loyal to Kwakwanso. Our people are just too greedy. If it favours you fine, if not, move on and focus on the larger picture of making PO President. There is enough appointments to be made when he is President.
Cross˚@Elkrosmediahub

Btw, I didn’t see any Kwankwasiya complaining about NDC’s appointments, nor threaten to quit the movement yesterday. Also, aside the unprofound gossips on Gawuna dumping the NDC for ADC, I didn’t see any candidate linked to Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso, complaining about the primaries.

In continuation of my quest to deepen knowledge and impact positively on our society, yesterday June 10th, in London, I held a series of important engagements, including a fruitful meeting with Alex Vines, Director of the Africa Programme at the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR). Our discussions focused on strengthening strategic relationships and fostering a deeper understanding of Africa’s evolving role in global affairs. It was emphasized that Africa must no longer be viewed merely through the prism of statistics or humanitarian concern, but as a serious and equal partner in shaping the future global order, much like India, Indonesia, and other emerging centres of influence. During our engagement, it became increasingly clear that Africa, and Nigeria in particular, must be placed at the centre of international conversations on partnership, trade, governance, innovation, and sustainable development. Constructive dialogue and mutual respect remain essential to building meaningful cooperation between Africa and the international community. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I was deeply honoured to host a high-powered solidarity visit from the Igbo Elders Consultative Forum at my residence in Abuja. The delegation was led by Dr. S. N. Okeke, Chairman of the Ohanaeze Council of Elders for the 19 States and the FCT, alongside former Governor of Enugu State, Okwesilieze Nwodo. The elders expressed strong appreciation for the growing and cordial partnership between myself and His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). They pledged their unwavering support for the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket and assured the movement of massive electoral backing across the South-East and the wider Southern region. In my response, I thanked the delegation for their visit and for the opportunity to exchange views on the state of the nation. Reflecting on the historic North-South East political dynamics, I expressed delight at the excellent and productive relationship I continue to enjoy with HE Peter Obi. I also reaffirmed my total commitment to the OK Movement and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), emphasising our resolute determination to deliver victory for the party in the upcoming elections. - RMK

PO will hire a consulting firm to handle his comms strategy like he did in 2023. There will be volunteers but it will be headed by an agency that handles political clients or by a seasoned campaign director like the one from 2023.
