Brilliant ending to the first day of the Television By Design conference - May Davis talking about her design work on Landscapers. I forgot to take pictures of @Illuminations opening paper on early TV design but that was fascinating too. I have learned a lot today

@sinclairdootson Focus more on “how” than “why”. Many practitioners, though very far from all, are uncertain about what can be seen as abstractions. Respect - *really* respect - the ultimate value of craft; don’t always want it to lead to, or be thought of in terms of, art

Image fees - more good news: Tate will start removing Creative Commons licences from their non-copyright artworks online. This means that potentially thousands of images of some of the greatest British art will finally be clearly in the public domain, and free to re-use. 1/3

#OTD 10th Jan 1938 - Alice Delysia, French actress and singer who made her career in English musical theatre, appeared in 'Starlight', also on 2nd Feb, 13th June & 17th June 1938. She appeared on a Baird 30-line transmission in Dec 1932.
