This is going to be an embarrassingly, ridiculously long thread that might interest no one, but the reunion scene between Louis and Lestat in episode 8 of Interview with the Vampire is one of the most devastating and beautiful and visceral scenes I've ever seen, and definitely🧵

Something that's interesting/fun/alarming to think about: we're hoping to get some answers this season, but there will probably be things that seem like answers that, much like the s2 recontextualizations of some of s1, will be made to look different in season 4. Ah, layers.

@MrSpoocky it felt like so much of it was about Louis' perception and Lestat feeling larger than life to him at times, and then that reality of the reunion scene where Lestat had never looked smaller, and they were the same. They play with Assad's height in interesting ways too.

@MrSpoocky Yes, I always found that so interesting! There were times where it felt like Lestat was a few inches taller than Louis, and they really used how broad Sam's shoulders are. Then times where they were the same height, most strikingly when we see that so clearly in the reunion. So

This whole discussion about the difference between the heights of the characters vs. actors is interesting because it IS a narrative element, but I think people are simplifying how the narrative uses it... It's not static...

@KingOfAngst0_2 Oh, I know! Sam is 5'10 and Jacob 5'9 + Louis' posture is actually Jacob's hehe. I find it interesting too. NOLA Lestat is slightly taller than Louis, Dreamstat significantly taller, and S2 finale Lestat shorter... I'm curious how they'll address it in S3

And I love several of the Louis looks so far, so I'm curious to see even more of how he's dressing now. Hard to beat the white tank top by itsel, though, that's just...a good look on him.

Among many things, I am excited to see more costume looks for Lestat, Louis, and others, but I do particularly love how clear it is that everyone who works in costuming on that show is enamored with Sam Reid's waist or shoulder-to-waist ratio. Yes put that man in all the corsets.

@m_ELLEN_nial They are! And not that I need every photoshoot to be erotic lol, but it was nice to have a photoshoot that really played on their beauty and chemistry and wasn't just "These two attractive men are near each other! Maybe one has a teacup?"

One thing I'm hoping for is more truly beautiful Sam/Jacob photoshoots as promo, like the EW photos of them. Even just in this photo from SDCC when they're exhausted and just standing there, look at that visual chemistry and beauty. This should not be wasted.
