Encouraged many young men to learn to play guitar. Was more emotionally driven "emo, or rage". Fueled masculine energy.

@btcgps @MikeOCull exactly. the kids still gravitate towards it and its "new" to them. shows how mismatched modern music is to young people. No bands started by kids in garages, just computer music and pop establishment acts. If the kids picked up guitars again, it would be a new world

The music of the 20th century will never happen again. No revival is gong to create the cultures that created all the songs and musicians we love. Rock often feels like genre music to me now. Newer bands make all the right moves but I’ve heard them all before. The best of them excel within the confines of their style but aren’t particularly original. The real kick of this, for all my talk about how music stopped progressing in the current era, is that I have a hard time wrapping my mind around a lot of modern bands. Much of it comes from cultural and personal spaces I don’t understand and I find myself unable to decode it. I don’t comprehend its influences or know what to make of the harmony. I get and respect the talent of bands like Animals As Leaders and Polyphia but can’t quite find an emotional handle on them. My own playing is 100% rooted in the 20th century and it kind of bugs me. I’m 59 years old so I guess that’s to be expected but I have a need to push past it.

Problem with comparing nirvana with SP is that Kurt was so drug addicted and then dead he couldn't get to making many albums. They had trouble touring because of his health. In utero was the best most creative of their studio albums and they kept changing their sound. Needed at least 2 more albums to see where they were headed. Very cool voice just didn't have the chance to develop like smashing pumpkins did with their dozens of albums

Nirvana’s music does not stand the test of time. But the Smashing Pumpkins does. So ultimately Billy Corgan won out against Kurt Cobain. Nirvana was hugely popular but I never listen to it anymore. I find Smashing Pumpkins more musical and listenable. Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness is a truly great album. Nirvana’s best was probably Unplugged. What say you @batcountry1980 ?

CPAC 2026 has really given me hope for the American youth Every young man & woman here are all radicalized / based, j pilled, way further right than MAGA, and actively infiltrating the establishment. Everyone’s staffers are either groypers, far right, Othodox / Catholic, pro-white, or some combo of the above — even the ethnic pro-America nationalists support our people and mission. It’s beautiful to witness. Things will be a lot different the next 12 years. Healing is possible. The world is changing. All the Western countries far right are colliding in closed door meetings. Most access I’ve had to powerful global players of any CPAC in a decade. We are all aligned and aware of the hurdles. From Romania to Croatian and even Germany. There is a global coalition and nationalist movement gaining real traction. I am hopeful. Everyone is well dressed too. Aesthetics are coming back. Chicks are hot again too. No more fat women, everyone is classy. I’m liking this direction. You’d have to be here to get it.

I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire. It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs. Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ? Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. That’s how they game and abuse the system and increase costs for all of us. Call your senator and tell them to support the BreakUp Big Medicine Bill by @HawleyMO and @SenWarren.

@alpharivelino @JoshuaLisec can confirm. my wife has cancer and has had multiple surgeries. I love her and she me, but it's killing my brain/mind/soul. no fault of hers, but the effect of it is real regardliess. Trying to transcend it, but struggling.

This gets the analysis completely backwards. MAGA isn't losing because the podcasters are fighting over personal issues, the podcasters are fighting because Trump completely changed from anti war to pro war. He explicitly ran on No War in Iran and no foreign intervention. The Trump team Went on podcasts promising that and then flipped on regime change wars. To act as if it's the "podcasters fault" is to miss the reason behind the fights. Podcasters/influencers are fighting over the Israel and Iran issues which were promised to be off the table during the campaign.
