Translation: “Everything is fine. Also, everyone’s money is still frozen.” “rsETH on Ethereum mainnet is fully backed” — correct, and also irrelevant. The exploit minted fake rsETH on L2s via the LayerZero bridge. Nobody claimed mainnet rsETH was unbacked. “Exposure is capped” — at what number? Capping something you won’t disclose isn’t transparency, it’s PR. “WETH reserves remain frozen across Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Mantle, Linea” — this is the entire story. Depositors cannot withdraw. You buried it in paragraph three. “Actively validating information and assessing potential resolutions” — 48 hours in. This is not an update. This is a stalling tactic with better grammar. Tell us when Umbrella gets deployed. Tell us the haircut percentage. Tell us when WETH unfreezes. Everything else is noise.

Update on rsETH incident: According to our analysis, rsETH on Ethereum mainnet is fully backed. Out of an abundance of caution, rsETH remains frozen across Aave V3 and V4 and exposure to the incident is capped. WETH reserves also remain frozen across affected markets including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Mantle, and Linea. Aave is actively validating information and assessing potential resolutions.

Curator, wealth manager - different names for the same guy pressing buttons with your money But a vault is an institutional-grade permission system, audited, enforced in code An SMA is the same promise repeated a thousand times across a thousand wallets. Good luck auditing all
etn@etn1337

Why I disagree with @BrianInCrypto's take on Vaults vs Separately Managed Accounts: - SMAs don't remove smart contract risk. A bug in the strategy logic or permission layer drains 10k wallets as easily as one pooled contract. Just diff architecture, but it's all code anyway. - Vaults are appealing to users precisely because they package a strategy run by an Asset Manager (and because they don't want to do it themselves for some reason: skills / regulatory / workload...you name it). Delegation is the product, not a bug to engineer away. - Running x segregated versions of the same strategy (e.g: S&P 500) can sometimes defeat the entire point of having managed products (e.g: Indices). Needless to say that most people would have been better holding Indices than doing stock picking. Standardisation comes with its own set of benefits, and we shouldn't forget about this. Finally, Brian says that Vaults are a 'One size fits all' solution. This critique misses the point. Vaults aren't the portfolio - the wallet is. Users compose their own bag from vaults, directional buys/sells, stables, perps / options, whatever... A vault has never been framed as a portfolio. tldr: Vaults and SMAs aren't competing answers to the same question. They're two different primitives solving two different problems.

Future leaders will build their businesses onchain. They need to graduate as Web3 natives. Not just from tech courses, but business and law schools. Today, the DeFi industry calls on US universities to meet this challenge, with our support. Learning brings the world onchain.

“Don’t worry, the curator would never do that.” Cool. But can they? If the answer is a PDF and a smile, that’s not a framework. That’s a hope strategy.
Mellow@mellowprotocol

TradFi has a hard requirement for going onchain. They need to understand underlying risks and be sure that the risk framework is enforced, not just described. One of the first things they ask every time: are the risk boundaries real, or just decoration? It's a fair question. Because without that, even a good strategy can drift. A curator makes one aggressive call under pressure, then another. And then the vault suddenly becomes something nobody signed up for. No announcement or governance vote, just quiet drift. That's what Core Vaults are built to prevent. Risk parameters live in the contract, not in someone's judgment call on a bad week. Allocation caps, whitelists, strategy isolation, oracle kill switches, withdrawal queues – all enforced at the contract level. A curator can't stretch exposure or skip the line on liquidity. The structure holds whether they're having a good week or a bad one. And hardcoded doesn't mean frozen. Limits can be tightened or adjusted as a mandate evolves, but only through structured governance. The rules can change. They just can't be ignored in the moment. Institutional capital doesn't need zero volatility. It needs the guarantee that the risk profile holds when markets don't. Most vault designs don't even frame it as a problem. They assume good behavior scales, that the person managing the vault will always act within bounds because they said they would. Core Vaults are built for capital that can't afford to find out the hard way, so they start from the opposite assumption: constraints only matter if they're structural. And that's the kind of guarantees you can point to in an audit, not just a pitch deck.

Traditional DeFi vaults used to die with their strategies. They work until they don't, then you migrate. Every rotation results in a new vault, new migration. Core Vaults flip the lifecycle. Vault itself becomes infrastructure. Your position never moves – the vault strategy does

The @LidoFinance stRATEGY Vault has crossed 100M and 30K ETH TVL🎉 When you package stETH into a strategy engine with manners, which is transparent, risk-aware, and easy to use, capital follows fast. Good strategies are magnetic. Try it out yourself: app.mellow.finance/vaults/lido-st…
