@ilyamkin @martymadrid @kaiarhodes SAFEs convert upon acquisition or IPO, but if the company never "exits" it can be run perpetually w/o paying its SAFE holders anything. the startup can pay itself dividends and self-fund growth. Toptal is an example...doing this is unethical, but legal to do as far as i know

@kaiarhodes What vehicle will you raise on? If you never raise again, then a SAFE or even convertible note could never convert to equity. And, obviously no investor would be interested in that investment?
