@ilybonten I think one obvious thing about Annie is she admires people who got courage to go against the flow. Bertolt is a total defeatist. He saw no beauty in the world.

@UNICORNV164812 Levi being an Ackerman makes this even more interesting. The Ackermans used to be the warriors of the King until they turned against him for manipulating the memories of Eldia, which cost them persecution. Would Levi's commitment then be an Ackerman thing? Or is it personal? Idek

I find it interesting that levi despises authority abuse and cruelty, but still fully commits to the military structure that perpetuates it. I don't think he's ever challenged the system, but rather survives it? It's a running theme for his character to endure instead of adapt
