Hardware design and development is so much more time consuming than software even for rapid prototyping like 3D Printing. Anyone going from software to hardware should double their time estimates and add 10 days as buffer for random things breaking.

@imcharlsy I think the difficulty of learning to be one is not knowing what it actually means to be one. It’s a bit ambiguous and the definition isn’t clear

design engineering was hot in 2024 but has aged terribly in 2026. it feels like now everyone *can* and *should* be a design engineer. i am quite torn about this (1/3)

Pretty wild experience on the way to the airport today. My Uber driver got pulled over on the freeway because he had $2,800 in unpaid parking tickets, and the cop wouldn’t let us leave unless he paid on the spot. Barely made my flight—surreal.

What if your whole computer were just pixels streamed to you from a model? I’ve been working with @zan2434 and @drewocarr to imagine a version of generative computing that’s much more flexible and visually rich than the GUIs we have today. (Video is sped up and edited)
