@haibaneinsect IMAX is not blocking the release of a taller format. Denis has repeatedly said scope is his intended vision for home viewing. I wish it wasn't too, but I'm not arguing with the director.

IMAX having this aspect ratio exclusive to only be in their special little cinemas is anti-art. Make the fact the screen in the IMAX cinema is huge as the selling point, not that you can only see the full authentic vision of the director in that specific cinema.

Makes a ton of sense lol, Sand is coarse and rough, and it gets everywhere. You don't want to end up with sand in the camera and ruin a shot.

Dune: Part Three was shot on a combination of 5-perf 65mm film, 15-perf 65mm, and digital for desert scenes, making it the second blockbuster since The Last Jedi (2017) to mix IMAX formats as well as the first Linus Sandgren-lensed film since 2015 to shoot digitally
