Some of you will recall a video I did some time ago, that talked about the power of taking our awareness into our peripheral vision for shifting from fight or flight mode, into the OTHER branch of our autonomic nervous system; the one that helps us chill out. Those of you who started using that have likely noticed (I know many have-because you’ve messaged me to let me know) that shortly after switching to peripheral vision, your body naturally takes in a slow, deep breath….and then relaxes deeply on the exhale. That’s the result of your Parasympathetic nervous system kicking in. Now, I want to point out something interesting. Almost every time in a persons life, where they have described something as a “breathtaking view!” they were somewhere that the view was such a vast expanse….WIDE…that it effortlessly drew them into….yep…their peripheral awareness…and it shifted them into a literal breathtaking physiology. It actually triggered them to take a deep breath….and relax. The best part? You can do this…any…time….any….place….even in your living room.

@engineers_feed Focus on enabling our humanity and improving our mental wealth rather than solely focusing on addictive engagement. It’ll be better for both platform and consumer long term.
