This morning, on the occasion of the 32nd Commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi, First Lady Mrs. Jeannette Kagame joins the International Conference on Genocide Prevention, bringing together hundreds of researchers, academics, survivors and friends of Rwanda to remember, reflect, and reaffirm a shared commitment to confronting genocide ideology and hate speech. This evening, President Kagame and First Lady Jeannette Kagame joined thousands of Rwandan youth for the annual Walk to Remember and Night Vigil at BK Arena, as part of the #Kwibuka32 remembrance activities, where young Rwandans stand together to uphold the memory of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

“We cannot afford to repeat the mistakes of the past. Genocide ideology is still spreading in our region. Left unchecked, it has the power to take us all backwards again. There are those who claim that Rwanda exaggerates these concerns, or that we have ulterior motives.
