Female Genital Mutilation, #FGM is a harmful practice that affects millions of girls and women around the world. In #Kenya, FGM is illegal, but still prevalent in some rural areas. That's why Mack Marangu (@mack_shem) , a @UNFPA_ESARO FGM innovator, created @TotoRegister , a platform that collects daily child attendance from schools and community centers, and analyzes the data to identify and alert the authorities of any potential FGM risks or patterns. As of today, more than 2,500 learners have been tracked and 20+ schools enrolled on the platform. TotoRegister's smart attendance system is safeguarding girls in rural Kenya.
