The legislation would continue funding the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, which supports projects focused on improving water quality, reducing harmful algal blooms, and restoring ecosystems across the region. NASA is planning a permanent return to the Moon, backed by a reported $20 billion investment to build a base where astronauts can live and work long term. But a mission like that does not just depend on getting there, it depends on what happens after. How do you power a base through extreme cold, long periods of darkness, and conditions that have never supported sustained human life before? Part of that answer is being developed in Cleveland. Ryan Coogler recently connected Bone Thugs-N-Harmony’s “Tha Crossroads” to the deeper meaning behind Sinners, explaining that the song taps into a much older idea tied to life, death, and the afterlife.
“That tradition was still echoing in 1990s Cleveland gangster rap,” he said, pointing to how the same concept has shown up across generations, from Delta Blues to Cleveland rap to a film that just won four Oscars.
He also mentioned that the connection didn’t even fully click for him until after the movie came out.
