It is my honor to take part in such a timely event today titled “From the Balkans to Gaza: A Critical Examination of Genocide” alongside HE Natasa Musar the President of Slovenia @NMusar and HE Benjamina Karic the mayor of Sarajevo @BenjaminaKaric, hosted at the historic Sarajevo National Theatre. 🤝I would like to thank the Center for Advanced Studies @CNSBA, the Islam and Muslims Initiative @IMI_, and Al Jazeera Balkans @AJBalkans for organizing this critical discussion, a day before the #Srebrenica memorial, while the genocide is ongoing in Gaza. 🌍 The seminar will delve into comparisons between the Srebrenica genocide, the Sarajevo siege, and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. It will also address the global surge in Islamophobia and examine potential connections between the rise of the far-right, Islamophobia, and colonial expansion in Palestine. #Genocide #HumanRights
