Viva passed with minor corrections! Thank you so much to everyone who has helped me get to this point, there are so many of you, esp @zoecharlottejay. Special thanks to @Online_Andri and @drheatherj for a great discussion and @hayward_katy and @debbielisle for being super-visors!
We have freedom of speech in the UK; it's written into our law in the 1998 Human Rigts Act. But rights come with responsibilities (I appreciate that's a concept you're not familiar with); there's a requirement not to incite criminality or spread hatred online. We find society works better that way.
This is the intersection of misogyny, transphobia, & white supremacy - there are people who desperately want to believe that there is an ‘ideal’ in nature, and that they are ‘it’.
Be fast, but not too fast; strong, but not too strong; compete - but don’t win

Our negative assumptions about people with Down syndrome can lead us to treat them in such a way that these assumptions become reality. Why not reverse our perspectives? This #WorldDownSyndromeDay, #AssumeThatICan! @coordown@DSiupdate
When I was sent to McLean Psych Hospital at age 18, all I felt was shame. I didn't care that Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, & Robert Lowell had been there.
4 years later, I graduated from Harvard. Their poems helped me get there. It's my turn to say mental illness is not a stigma.
Now seems a good to let you all know that I’ve just started a new role as a law lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast. Very much looking forward to working with colleagues I already know and those I’ve yet to met

FYI. Since 2015 Ireland has had the Gender Recognition Act which allows people to have full legal recognition of their preferred gender. Last time I checked Ireland was still there. Don’t fall for the propaganda being peddled by the usual suspects. Also LEAVE MY FRIENDS ALONE.
