I’ve been sitting with a thought that keeps circling back in my mind for years now, I've made a few posts about it but none like this... What would this world actually look like if humans could no longer lie? Not “mostly honest.” Not “mostly transparent.” No lies at all. Imagine that for a moment. Every politician, every CEO, every partner, every friend their real thoughts would be as visible as their words. No more hidden agendas. No more “I’m fine” when they’re not. No more “We’re doing this for your own good” while they’re really protecting their own power. The entire structure of modern civilization is built on layers of deception, some small, some massive. Governments run on secrecy. Corporations profit from manipulation. Relationships survive on half-truths and polite lies. Take those away, and almost everything we know would collapse… or transform into something unrecognizable. Now, I’m not claiming telepathy is real (I don’t have evidence for that). But the idea of it is one of the most powerful thought experiments we can run. Because if we could read each other’s minds, lying would become impossible. And a world without lies would be the single biggest threat to every system that currently runs on deception. That’s why the idea feels so dangerous to some people and so liberating to others. Here’s the uncomfortable part: We are becoming more distracted, more disconnected, and in some ways less mentally resilient. Sh*t, to be honest, no pun intended, I used AI to help my spelling and grammar and some paragraph placement in the post🤷‍♂️ If the power grid went dark tomorrow, a lot of us in 2026 would struggle in ways our great-grandparents would not. That’s not me romanticizing the past. It’s just an observation. Convenience has a real cost and Comfort can become a cage. Maybe even a cage we don't want to ever leave... The deeper question I keep coming back to is this: Are we evolving…? or are we devolving in the areas that actually matter? We’re building faster cars, better screens, and more powerful AI but our ability to sit with discomfort, and connect authentically seems to be eroding. We’re trading depth for dopamine. I don’t have all the answers. I’m not even sure telepathy is possible. But I do know this: The longing for a world without lies is real. A lot of people feel it. That ache for real honesty, for being truly seen and known without all the masks we ALL wear... that’s not crazy. That’s human So I’ll ask you the same question I’ve been asking myself: If we could develop (or rediscover) the ability to communicate without deception, whether through technology, meditation, or something we haven’t discovered yet would we even want it?
