kimi’s founder & ceo got his phd at cmu. why didn’t he stay in america?!

🚨 WOW: Florida student Vaibhav Bhaskar graduated with a record 11.99 GPA after taking dozens of advanced classes. 👏👏 He is now headed to @DukeU, where he plans to study finance and economics. The achievement set a new Florida state record, but it also led the school district to change how GPAs are calculated so scores like this won't happen again. For those wondering: Context: Vaibhav took on such a massive volume of advanced schoolwork that, under the district's weighted GPA system, his GPA reached a record 11.99. The district has now revised its grading formula to prevent scores that high in the future.

As America commemorates 250 years of independence, the @usmint will begin striking this new $1 gold coin to honor the enduring legacy of liberty and a lasting symbol of patriotism. Featuring President Trump, it celebrates the strength of American values, and the promise of a nation dedicated to preserving freedom for all.

My friend Rabbi Katz called after seeing threats following our H-1B fraud investigation announcement. Though I’m not Jewish, he said I needed a mezuzah for blessings, wisdom, and protection. He drove from NY to deliver it. May it bring protection to all @DOLOIG.

The “H-1B = cheap labor” debate goes nowhere, because there are always competing datasets: big tech vs smaller companies, averages vs extremes, high salaries vs outsourcing cases etc. But the real issue isn’t pay. It’s CONTROL. The selection process is by random lottery. The visa is tied to the employer. If one loses the job, they lose the status. Changing employers, while possible, is risky depending on where you are in your immigration journey. Speaking about problems can carry risk. This becomes even more pronounced once employment-based green cards enter the picture. The limbo can last years or decades, based on where one is born. So the system quietly creates a workforce that is highly skilled, often well paid, yet structurally less free in the labor market. That’s the conversation people should actually be having.

The best way to stop H-1B abuse and pay down our debt is to auction off H-1B visas with a starting price of $30,000 each. Google, Microsoft, Apple and META will run most of these up to $100,000 each! @JDVance @vp Mr. Vice President, please consider! No one is spending $30-100k+ to bring in a $50,000 IT worker. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
