The controversy originally began in March 2024 when Kim Sae-ron briefly uploaded and deleted a close photo with Kim Soo-hyun on social media while she was reflecting following her drunk driving scandal. The image fueled dating rumors online. At the time, Kim Sae-ron hinted she was preparing an official statement but later decided not to release one.
