Breaking: Security Operatives Rescue Adelabu’s Sister and Twin Sons in Ibadan Nigerian security forces have reportedly rescued Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, after they were abducted in Ibadan. The victims were said to have been kidnapped on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, around 7:30 a.m. in the Elewura area of Challenge, while Mrs. John-Paul was taking her children to school. Armed men reportedly intercepted her vehicle at gunpoint, forced her out, and took them away in the same car. According to security updates, operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit tracked the suspects and engaged them in a confrontation, during which two suspected kidnappers were neutralised. Others, including an alleged gang leader identified as Seriki Mohammed Abdullahi, were reportedly arrested. Authorities say the victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their family. The family of Chief Adelabu had earlier confirmed the abduction and appealed for calm while security agencies worked on securing their release. A video allegedly showing the moment of the abduction had earlier gone viral on social media, sparking widespread concern. The incident adds to growing concerns over kidnapping cases in parts of Oyo State and the wider Southwest region, with renewed calls for stronger security responses.
