@niccruzpatane Exactly this. I moved from gas to EV for both cars and always charge them on ULO plan at 3.9c/kWh. I also have a club membership that pays back 3c/kWh so you effectively pay 0.9c/kWh.

If you live in Ontario, Canada it honestly doesn’t make sense to drive anything else but an EV. It should be the only vehicle you should be considering right now.
With the Ultra-Low Overnight plan you can charge for just $0.039 (CDN) per kWh before taxes and delivery.
Besides using Solar, this is one of the cheapest electricity rates in the entire world.
Charging an EV at home would be practically free compared to filling up gas in a comparable vehicle.

We went to school in public buses, getting down at the bus stop to wade through traffic for kilometres in the most pedestrian-unfriendly conditions in the world. Kids. I don’t know how we never got hit by a vehicle. India fails its children unless you have v affluent parents.

One country stands out in the global reputation chart for 2025. The US lost massive good will globally. I ln my world as a public speaker I hear of conferences not being held in the US for the foreseeable future and of academics choosing Canada for their sabbatical over the US. Recent news from Germany is that the government moves away from Microsoft products. Isolated small trends that nonetheless point into the same direction.

The affluent were largely insulated from the terrible quality of life most Indians suffer. That is now catching up with everyone with the pollution, traffic, monopolistic civil aviation. Clean air, good health and minimal stress is more wealth than money, car and house.
