The Crown Estate generates capital of which a percentage pays for The King & those who support him in his role as head of state. It is not a salary, it is not private income. The Duchies provide their personal funds, on which they pay tax.
Richard Palmer@RoyalReporter

@TRHLadyThalia @TildaAng I’m really surprised anyone is still writing this, even on this platform, after so many years. The Royal Family does give to charities but it’s funded principally by UK taxpayers. It doesn’t receive any money from the Crown Estate, whose profits are used simply as a benchmark.

@RoyalReporter @MarjoryFrobish You said that the donations mostly come from the taxpayers. However, there is a distinct demarcation between how the sovereign grant and the private finances are spent. You are not "nailing" anything- because you have forgotten how to form and express a coherent opinion.

@indieg2022 @MarjoryFrobish It was the lie about the Crown Estate, rather than the taxpayer, funding the Sovereign Grant that I was nailing. I didn’t mention the duchies.

A lot being said about this - both good and bad, but when you look at the showy, performative displays of piety by leaders across the Atlantic, I'd take someone with a "quiet faith" any day. thetimes.com/uk/royal-famil…

@RoyalReporter @MarjoryFrobish Richard, do shut up. King's personal funds are generated through Duchy of Lancaster, for PoW that's Duchy of Cornwall. The Sovreign Grant is different than the Duchy income. Unlike Crown Estates, the incomes are not 'surrenderd'-how uneducated do you have to be a royal reporter?

@Melanated_Mona Well, he would be the Supreme Governor of the Church-which means he would be the administrative authority of the CofE. Not the spiritual one. Yes, he needs to have a better visibility in regards to church-but I don't think just going to Church makes one a better Christian.

@indieg2022 Indie, that is different. You're not a pujari. Otherwise, you'd be at the temple almost everyday 😁 William is going to be the Head of the Church of England...that responsibility makes him different from the regular church goer.

Btw, I am a Hindu. Haven't been to a temple in atleast 2 years. I don't think I need to actually go to a temple to have my faith. Been to the local cathedral in the UK on Christmas days though.

The last time she went to her native India, she almost died from food poisoning.

@narindertweets If you hate the RF and constantly criticise the UK why haven’t you emigrated to another country. You obviously have the funds to set up in another country where your days wouldn’t be filled with constant hate.

Prince William has shared more about his faith, and I have conflicting thoughts. It’s great that he sees the benefit of the church and has a “quiet faith”, but it’s troubling he doesn’t feel the need to attend or express and share his beliefs. Church attendance and being part of a community of faith is part of being Christian, in addition to evangelizing (i.e. talking about your faith and salvation with others). He either truly believes or it’s just a tradition that he thinks should continue but his personal faith journey will remain minimal. This doesn’t work as the head of the church. If he’s going to take the mantle as Head of the Church of England, then the Christian faith and practice must be essential to your life. If the Head of the Church doesn’t see the benefit of weekly attendance, then why would anyone else? The church would, in that situation, would die. thetimes.com/article/677fe4…

@wren_mccoy Short version: Most Americans are dumb and doesn't have the mental capacity to understand that a person can follow a faith even if they don't go to the palce of worship every weekend.

Short version: he’s not a Christian really, doesn’t attend church regularly, ignored the last Archbishop for 11 years, but now facing criticism of the monarch’s obsession with Islam, William knows he needs to get on board with the CoE— or at least do better at pretending.

@Will___lloyd Newstateman needs better writers, mate! First of all, how can someone read a "blank piece of paper"? Wouldn't that ultimately mean that he has memorised everything he was saying ?

Quite fun to watch the palace methodically try to answer every criticism made by the New Statesman last year. First a picture of the prince of wales reading a… blank piece of paper. Now a last minute “revelation” that he does, contrary to several decades worth of briefings/reports, believe in a Church of England sanctioned God.

Instead of yet another boring story about celebrity Harry and his security, the 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 story the media should be reporting is the fact that US resident Harry is 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯 trying to manipulate the process, this time using the media to lay the groundwork for his conspiracies

So we’re just here for engagement farming? Respecting our favs’ privacy is only the media’s job, while fans with 1000s of followers can post anything? As we all know, W&C are famously strict about their children's privacy, so if we still see Wales fan accounts sharing their private lives, tell me, why are they still doing it if not for personal gain? Honestly, if you call yourself their fan but ignore their boundaries, just change your fcking name. Shame on you, people!
