Don’t think I’ve grown to hate a club in such a short space of time as I have Southampton. Cheating scum. Come on #Boro beat the cheats.

I’ve liked Southampton a lot this year, but as the commentator has said, there’s a theme of unsporting behaviour. This play-off period really hasn’t been a good look. From Spygate to the ball boys behaviour.

I know it’s all opinions, people will always have their favourites but I am surprised that the general consensus is to move on Aaronson, Gruev and Longstaff, I think all 3 have shown they are all good squad players #lufc

@ArneysReds Just an awful team and he’s one of worst . I used to always like to see Brazil do well but with him and Gabriel in the team , no chance of that

@BerenCross Awful awful performance , honestly Farke puts himself under so much pressure when he plays this kind of line up

If Farke and Leeds want anything out of this, they have to change it up. With Spurs leading, there's only one winner if they repeat the way they've played for the last 50 minutes. #lufc

40 - Byram on the bench is a possible change if Farke wants to try and shore up the issues on the right, though it would take away from the potential to attack that side. Or Lienou, a left-back, then swap Justin to RWB. 0-0 #lufc

Tottenham get a corner after Darlow was adjudged to have held onto the ball too long. He and Bijol protest. Farke furious. #lufc

Caller Manjeet: “The sanctimonious claptrap I’ve heard from people who say that anybody who votes Reform is uneducated, illiterate, and racist is absolutely unbelievable. I am a British Sikh, and I voted for Reform.” 👏🏽 The sneering Matthew Wright looked very uncomfortable.

Marc Guehi was under no pressure by Thierno Barry, in an offside position. Guehi had full control and made a poor pass without the offside player impacting. This resets the offside phase and means Barry is no longer active. Excellent decision from Michael Oliver. #EVEMCI

More good work from Works in Progress. There is more good thinking now from networks like this than in SW1 a decade ago. But the main problem for them and similar ventures is the DEMAND problem: SW1 politicians and spads stopped being interested in ideas, policy, how institutions work, and power. They shifted all attention to the old media and social media. This has become pathological and so pervasive it’s invisible inside SW1. You can’t change direction when the entire ecosystem has no interest beyond old/new media spin cycles. The MPs can’t think three months ahead, a fortiori ASML/AI just leads to dead eyes. Only solving, or evading, the DEMAND problem can enable new ideas to be executed. A governing project needs to integrate: ideas from likes of WiP, new people, new stories, new institutions, a theory of power and execution, and a tech-driven voter-focused (not media focused) communication machine. And almost nobody is working on this, understands what it means, has ever done it etc. Old parties shattered, new parties focused on social media… Voters can see SW1 is a vacuum. So elites will continue fragmenting as they ponder this vacuum. Many want ‘something to be done’ but near zero are prepared to get dirty and bloody in the arena. So we stagger on to inevitable crisis…
Sam Bowman@s8mb

Europe has one of the most essential and irreplaceable companies in the global AI supply chain: ASML, which produces the machines that TSMC uses to make its chips. These machines are roughly the size of double-decker buses. To ship one requires 40 freight containers, three cargo planes, and 20 trucks. They are the world’s most complex objects. Each contains over one hundred thousand components, all of which have to be perfectly calibrated for the machine to produce light consistently at the right wavelength. ASML was once seen as an also-ran compared to its arch-rivals Nikon and Canon. It succeeded thanks to involvement in a US program to develop extreme ultraviolet lithography, which only happened because the Americans were so worried about losing to Japan. ASML also outsourced much of its R&D instead of trying to do it all in house, which allowed it to spread its bets across many different companies. Today, the entire global AI industry depends on ASML. Understanding its success is crucial to understanding Europe's position in AI today, and how it can leverage that to avoid being left behind tomorrow. worksinprogress.co/issue/the-worl…
