Ghulam Ali Khatana Welcomes PM Modi’s Austerity Appeal Amid Global Crisis Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Ghulam Ali Khatana has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the nation to adopt austerity measures in view of the ongoing global challenges arising due to tensions in West Asia. Khatana said the Prime Minister’s message reflects responsible leadership during a difficult international situation that has affected economies and disrupted global supply chains across the world. He stated that every citizen should support the nation by reducing unnecessary expenditure, promoting local products, and adopting fuel-saving measures. He praised the Prime Minister’s call to avoid destination weddings abroad, reduce foreign travel, limit unnecessary imports, and encourage the use of public transport and electric vehicles. According to Khatana, such collective efforts will help strengthen the Indian economy and reduce pressure on national resources during the ongoing crisis. The Rajya Sabha MP also appreciated the emphasis on “Vocal for Local” and urged people to support Indian products and industries. He said the people of the country have always stood united during difficult times and expressed confidence that India would successfully overcome the present challenges as well. Ghulam Ali Khatana Assures Full Support to Migrating Gujjar-Bakarwal Community Jammu, May 11: Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament Ghulam Ali Khatana has reiterated his commitment towards the welfare and safety of the Gujjar-Bakarwal community during their annual seasonal migration towards Kashmir and other upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir. In a press release issued here, MP Khatana said that special arrangements and necessary assistance are being ensured for the tribal migrant families travelling through traditional migration routes including Poonch and Rajouri. He emphasized that the administration has been directed to remain vigilant and extend all possible support to the nomadic communities during their movement. Highlighting recent initiatives taken for tribal welfare, Khatana said that a mobile telecommunication and helpline support system has recently been launched in Rajouri district to address the concerns and grievances of tribal families. He termed the initiative as a major step towards ensuring better communication, safety, and accessibility for Gujjar-Bakarwal migrants. “The Gujjar-Bakarwal community should not face any kind of inconvenience during migration. Every possible measure is being taken to facilitate their peaceful and secure movement,” he stated. MP Khatana further said that the Gujjar-Bakarwal community represents the cultural strength and identity of Jammu and Kashmir, adding that their contribution to society remains invaluable. He assured that the government and concerned authorities will continue working for the upliftment, protection, and welfare of tribal populations across the Union Territory. Widely regarded as a compassionate and people-friendly leader, Ghulam Ali Khatana has consistently raised tribal issues at various platforms and has remained actively associated with the welfare of Gujjar-Bakarwal communities across Jammu and Kashmir.
