So not only has Iran brazenly lied about its ballistic missile range capacity, but this means it can probably hit the UK with them - and we have zero, I repeat ZERO, defence against these missiles. Very worrying.

The toughest part of being in the US over the past few months has definitely been adjusting to the cold. Coming from a tropical climate, I already found US summers a bit chilly, so now that temperatures are dipping into the 40s (single digits in °C), it’s been a real ordeal. For me, 80s are comfortably warm, 70s feel cool, and 60s are basically winter. So yeah, 40s feel freezing, and anything in the 30s might as well be arctic! I didn’t pack winter clothes when I came over for this startup journey since I wasn’t planning to stay this long, so keeping warm has been challenging. Thankfully I’m in California and not in a snowier part of the country. The house I’m staying in doesn’t have much in the way of insulation, and I tried using a space heater at night, but the electric bill shot up to $10/day. That’s $300/month just to heat one room—not exactly sustainable! Thermal base layers and wool socks have been lifesavers, though. At night, I sleep with three layers of blankets and my best purchase yet: an electric throw blanket. I sandwich it between the layers, and it keeps me warm enough to make it through. I’m even tempted to get an extension cord and walk around the house wrapped in it, like some plugged-in Evangelion unit. I was talking to a friend who moved back to the US from Thailand, and he said it took him three years to get used to the cold again. Three years! Thankfully I'll be back in Thailand next week for a well deserved break where I can grab my warmer gear and bring it back to the US in January! I'm told January is going to be really cold

Saw Gladiator II last night and yes, I was entertained! Screw the bad reviews—this had Gladiators, Epic Fights, and Plenty of Blood. A roaring fires, red-meat-off-the-bone sort of affair. Action scenes made for the theater; if you’re watching it at home you chose poorly.
