Last week we stopped to stare at that onetime Loop relic, the Beef 'n Brandy, which had a 50+ year run in the Holabird & Roche Waterman Building (1919). Not long ago there were plans to renovate and convert this gem at 127 S. State into a boutique hotel - sadly not to be.
