My journey with @midjourney & moodboards continues to knock my socks completely off. I made these two wallpapers for Atomic Robot, a mobile & web dev shop in Cincy. They are old friends. They didn't ask for them, it's just practice for me.

@rywalker @kicksopenminds @TheMightyChick5 @astronomerio Yes, 3! With the second and third era I tried to capture the same magic as the first era but it never came close.

@kicksopenminds @TheMightyChick5 @astronomerio @inkdryer I think there were 3 @inkdryer eras (might be some sort of record)

Damn about the #AdnanSyed hearing. Everything about the situation is sad, including that the state continues to dig their heels in. Et tu Ivan Bates?
It's most sad for Hae Min Lee's family.
I have a feeling and hope @Undisclosedpod is about to help us find Hae's true killer.

This is my new podcast!
gameball@gameballfun
Ep 2: For the Baseball Nerds. gameball.fun/podcast-1 First, we give a company update, then we reflect on Pete Rose and go through some interesting season stats. Then we talk a LOT about scorekeeping and play Paper Gameball, a pen-and-paper version of the app!

Any @Dodgers fans out there? Would you wear this crewneck sweatshirt? "LAD" is how the Dodgers show up on a scoreboard and the rectangular shape mimics the famous Dodger Stadium scoreboard.
Is it cool?!

Today's daily is a little project I used @midjourney for. I asked it for an overhead cityscape with a ballpark in the center, in the style of a Pixar movie. This was probably the 12th iteration. I was curious to see what a Pixar movie about baseball would look like.
The Pixar of baseball apps.
It's a weird statement, isn't it? What does it even mean to be the Pixar of baseball? Well, we don't totally know yet. We aren't making movies, we're making mobile-based sports games for fans. Kind of like fantasy but not exactly. Learn more about gameball.fun.
We do know we're next in a lineage of companies that bring design & art, technology, and business together to make extraordinary products for consumers. @Pixar, @Apple, @Disney, @duolingo, @Airbnb, Teenage Engineering. @linear too, but they're SaaS.
I am especially personally inspired by Pixar. I love the movies, of course, as does my 2-year old son (Cars 1, 2, 3 on repeat), but what's most interesting is the way they operate. They do almost everything differently from other companies, mainly that they bring design & art to the same level as engineering and business.
Few companies do this. It's a core part of our strategy.

One of the most important (and perhaps provocative) decisions we're making with Gameball — gameball.fun — is our revenue model: "Freemium" or, in other words, "direct-to-fan."
Anyone will be able to download and play Gameball for free with friends. Then, if you want, you can upgrade to Pro for $2.99 per month, unlocking the full Gameball experience with deeper stats, a unique & personalized experience, advanced Gameball options, and other exclusive benefits.
The free version will not have ads and neither will the Pro version, of course. Imagine an ad-free experience in sports! It's hard isn't it?
Not relying on an advertising model will allow us to have a direct relationship with fans, just like us. Most regular, non-tech people may not realize that when apps are free and have ads, you are not the customer. The customers are the companies buying ads; that's how the app maker makes money.
With this kind of ad-based revenue model, there are some upsides for the user, mainly that they get a free experience. There are downsides, though. App makers are often driven to keep users in their apps as long as possible so they can serve more ads and therefore make more money. Today, so many of us are addicted to apps and, sadly, this is by design.
We want to make money too. But we want to do it differently, in a simple, straightforward, direct transaction with fans. No gimmicks or tricks. We don't need to desperately try and keep users inside the app so we can serve more ads and make more money. Instead, we can just focus on creating an extraordinary experience. And if you want more of that experience, you can pay us directly and we'll give it to you.
We don't sell customer data, we just make great products.

Any @Wrexham_AFC ⚽ fans out there? My wife and I have been watching Welcome to Wrexham and loving it.
As we're building out the Gameball app for baseball fans — gameball.fun — we think it would work great for soccer (*clears throat* football) fans too. What do you think?
Also, how do I get this in front of @RMcElhenney and @VancityReynolds and co? I have a feeling that Rob, especially, would love this.
