Oh fuck off Reuters. The so-called talent crunch is a self-imposed problem firms created by being too cheap to raise starting salaries. How funny the solution to this problem is hiring people halfway across the world who work for a fraction of the cost of US staff.

@byron_cpa AFAIK modern factory farm eatin' chickens grow fast, like a few weeks from hatch to slaughter. Egg-laying hens need more time to mature so it takes longer to refill the supply after a bird flu cull.

@inkywretch Price/supply of chicken at the grocery store seems to be stable. I don't understand how this isn't being impacted.

reviewing the Bench bankruptcy filing (just Bench Accounting, Inc, I haven't drilled into the 10sheet Services Inc filing yet) ... after lot of detective snooping and google searches a few things stick out -40+ smaller firms listed as creditors for amounts ranging between $40 and $1700 suspect it's unpaid referral fees -they were using a lot of middleman Fintech API apps (Plaid, Rutter, Workato, Snyk) -owe $240k to Gusto (unclear for what ..it may be referral or resale fees or possibly their own payroll?) -owe Paro 276k. Were they using temp staffing??? -they paid to get into the "start" of a business journey via companies that do incorporation services -they spent a ton on customer acquisition (owe LinkedIn $195k) -they paid to get into many "entrepreneur or business startup coaches/communities." e.g. a luxury wedding pros group Tune into the next @AcctPod episode for more!
