جوليان الفاريز حيكون لاعب مثالي في الفريق، و مثالي جدا كمان، لكن مش عشان يكون مهاجم، بل عشان يكون لاعب رقم 10. ما الفارق بين المساحات التي يشغلها جوليان، و المساحات التي يشغلها داني اولمو وفيرمين لوبيز؟ هل يجلب الفريق لاعب يقدم بالفعل نفس الدور الذي يقدمه لاعبين أخريين؟ افضل فترة في مسيرته الاحترافية لما لعب مكان ديبروين في السيتي اثناء إصابته و هالاند أمامه كمهاجم، و لما بيلعب بشكل عام لازم يكون فيه مهاجم قدامه بيثبت المدافعين و بيعمل الشغل الصعب اللي هو مش بيقدر يقدمه لانه ببساطة مش مهاجم. مع مساحات كبيرة بفضل زملاؤه، و وجهه دائما ل الملعب، هو لاعب خطير، لكن حسنا من سيقوم بدور المهاجم الآن؟ نحتاج الآن مهاجم، و غير ذلك نحتاج نبيع فيرمين و اولمو، لانه يشغل ادوارهم، فلا حاجة لهم الآن. الجماهير تريد مني تقبل جلب لاعب ب 120-150 مليون، مع راتب اكبر من راتب لامين، ل يقدم نفس أدوار فيرمين لوبيز بشكل محسن في بعض الجوانب لاعب جيد لكن مساحة تالقه بالفعل مملؤة و خرائطهم الحرارية متطابقة جداً. جوليان الفاريز محدود، نعم، كمهاجم لا يقدر يقدم ما هو مطلوب منه في ذلك الدور، و ما يحتاجه زملاؤه منه، لكن بشكل عام لاعب جيد، لكن في سياق معين و ظروف بالفعل نمتلك لاعبين يقدمون حلول فيها فما الحاجة منه.

You can tell there are Barça fans on here who care more about Lamine's personal success than the club's. They go hand-in-hand, but not in the sense that we want to maximize Lamine's output as a path towards team success, but rather that maximizing the team's capabilities will, in turn, lead to Lamine's output being maximized.
Messi became the player he became because the sporting conditions allowed his talents to be maximized, and the later years of his Barça career were defined by the club achieving some relative success - but also failing in the UCL - by virtue of his output, not in conjunction with it.
