@StewPetersNet @BarackObama @MichelleObama @grok I want to make fun of this but im too distracted by the fact that this loser paid real money to do this. Like... he pays money to the app to AI edit pictures and put a silly little checkmark next to his name so he can feel big and strong. Let him have this one... he needs ig.

@thhouseofblack @SarahphinaSP This exactly, its a bit disrespectful to the actual history, language, and culture. However, being tone deaf and being actively harmful are two different things. Its annoying but generally harmless

@SarahphinaSP I think a lot of people had criticisms on the constant mockery and mispronunciation of greek names being done as a "joke" I'm not Greek so I can't comment on it entirely, but I understand where people are coming from in that regard tbh?

#epicthemusical is the most self-hating fandom ever because what do you mean people are genuinely causing fights over whether or not it’s cringe to say telemarketing or not?? let people do what they want, who gives a crap

@SarahphinaSP I like to think they are leaders of specific factions of Suitors, mini kings if you will. Especially given that a good chunks of the Suitors would have to be pretty young. They just represent two different approaches: disrespectful (but honest) and deceiving (but polite)

Technically, Eurymachus was the “leader” of the suitors, Antinous was just the most disrespectful. Sorta brains and brawn. In the Odyssey, he does *attempt* to blame everything on Antinous, but they all die anyway. 🤷

Pregnancy is the most humbling experience ever. I'm just sitting here and allowing someone the size of a lime to beat me up.

@lewis_hem Its a cute show, definitely worth it for the nostalgia trip (plus Annabeth specifically is adorable) but definitely not a life changing watch

Is it worth it to watch Pjo chat? I've gotten requests on tumblr about drawing pjo characters and it kinda piqued my interest, the arts I've seen are amazing

@SarahphinaSP Hm, I think there could be some use to some of these details as juxtaposition, but largely people dont generally know the original context. The region and an upbringing as a noble can explain a lot of these details, but people to forget that he only picks fights he can win easily

@insertpoet1849 Hi! Sorry, I didn’t expand very well on the issue since the terminology wasn’t exact, but this person explained it much better than I did: x.com/y20440/status/… ^ Furs by themselves are no issue at all. It’s that combined with the other factors. No hard feelings! 🫶

@SarahphinaSP I mostly agree with everything you've said but I'd like to point out that the problem isn't exactly that he wears pelts, since other heroes and gods are often depicted wearing them. It's also the fact Antinous is drawn with scars AND pelts/tusks/bones that make him look like a-

@lewis_hem There seems to be a misunderstanding with what context furs were used in Bronze Age Greece as well. The Suitors use animal products to accessorize, its a show of frivolity bc hunting was in fact a sport for greek nobles. If they are dressed in all furs, then an argument exists.
