@aiworthit @NoLimitGains The problem is the US doing this actually pushes Asia and Europe towards Russia and China. Europe has already started to move towards China. So I guess if the US is happy to practically disconnect from the rest of the world then that’s where it’s going.

So regardless of moving to renewables we should be doing this. You could even put that tax revenue towards driving the transition.

@mynameiselnino1 @Conservatives It would help albeit not very much. It would help bolster oil supplies globally. IEA has asked for this. Also it would create jobs and bring in tax revenue which could be used to reduce fuel duty. So it definitely could help. It’s better than doing nothing.

@EncrypticTV @folaoftech That’s not true. The GPU and CPU are on the same die. It’s just not inefficient by having 2 separate chips to power. M5 Max is equivalent to RTX 5070 so quite powerful actually.

@folaoftech Because mac doesn’t have a dedicated gpu so it consumes less power, gpu alone can consume 100-200 watts, but its a good trade off for gpu intensive tasks which you cannot do on mac

@AlBonDeega @WindsorDebs @GOVUK Not very easy to downgrade iOS since it needs to be signed by Apple. 26.3.1 is still signed though so you can downgrade for the time being. When they stop signing it will be next to impossible unless you have some kind of exploit.

Apple makes the worst laptops, their keyboards break every 6 months, Apple hates fan noise so they cook themselves to death and they are impossible to repair. MacOS is also the most useless and restricitve OS. Linux on a Thinkpad is everything Apple will never be.

@RechargeRhythms @nitzukai Yeah same. I think OS X wasn’t really considered mature until Panther. Tiger to Snow Leopard was when it really benefitted massively from almost 2 decades of development since it all started with NeXTStep.

@nitzukai I never liked the metal UI. From the public beta to Tiger, the grey/pinstripes stuff was just gorgeous. Mountain lion was nice enough but for me the best has been from big sur to Sequoia. I like grey, flat(ish), almost paper like UI’s.
