Holy cow. The Texas grid operator's (ERCOT) new electric load review puts 62 gigawatts of additional electric load by 2030 *on top of the current forecast.* New 2030 load levels used in transmission planning reach 152 GW by 2030! For perspective, the all-time peak in ERCOT is 86 GW. The demand is coming, folks. And it's huge.

In this energy transition any one too sure about a specific technology to bet on or a specific tactic to back will be wrong. But the direction of travel is now clear with big money chasing wins. It means more people will be wrong and that's ok. We need more people trying.

This is a great example of some of the innovation needed for an energy transition, a new hydrogen generation cycle. Maybe they’ll build the pilot plant in Houston again so I can bother them for a visit, still hoping to see the Allam Cycle power plant down the road.

What's transformational? Low cost and >99% CO2 capture, with maximum H2 recovery (none burned). 8RH2 is simple–see below. Basically, a CO2 heating loop integrated with an H2 production loop. The CO2 loop creates the heat & captures the CO2 and the H2 loop, well, makes the H2
