@TRobinsonNewEra It was three asian lads that were stabbed. We don't know yet who did the stabbing. What if it turns out to be a white male? What will you all say then?

@LozzaFox Aww. Using religion to show you are better than other people. Christian institutions and states have at times sanctioned crusades, inquisitions, forced conversions, and abuse, where faith, power, and politics fused.

There is no such thing as a “British” Muslim. You are either British or a Muslim. You cannot be both. If you are the second. Go live with your people. We are Christians here. Go home.
British Muslim Trust@BMuslimTrust

British Muslims are part of the fabric of Britain, and together we can ensure every voice is heard. We were truly humbled to welcome @MayorofLondon to the Official Launch of the British Muslim Trust, alongside so many inspiring speakers and guests. His powerful words reminded us of the incredible contributions British Muslims make across the UK and the importance of reporting anti-Muslim hate to empower our communities. Accurate data on the lived experiences of British Muslims is what will drive policy change. This evening was a celebration of resilience, talent, and collaboration. We are proud to stand with leaders like the Mayor of London to build a safer, more inclusive society. #reporthate #antimuslimhate #mayoroflondon #britishmuslimtrust #reportnow

The pattern of billionaires buying up every major news outlet and social media platform to turn them into right wing propaganda machines so they can keep those in power who won't tax their wealth should terrify every sane person.

@StephenKing False. He attempted to fire on a member of law enforcement. If you don’t want to get shot, don’t interfere with law enforcement operations. It’s not that complicated.

So boiling lobsters while they’re alive (ie. can feel pain) is being banned because it’s cruel to animals and causes unnecessary suffering… …but it isn’t cruel to refuse to stun animals, slit their throats, then hang them up so the blood drains from their bodies????

@DavidOlusoga @BBCTwo @BBCiPlayer Thanks, that makes sense. I did some digging as it is part of my heritage, and I only meant that the earlier Laois–Offaly (1550s) and Munster (1580s) plantations meant the framework was already there before Ulster and Virginia. Your point on the overlap is right

@DavidOlusoga @BBCTwo @BBCiPlayer Absolutely, they were concurrent, and the exchange of people and ideas between Ulster and Virginia is important. My point is simply that Ireland remains essential to the story of the empire, and excluding it changes how that wider history is understood. Much respect . Sam

@DavidOlusoga @BBCTwo @BBCiPlayer Thank you, David. I’ll look forward to watching that series. It is reassuring to know Ireland will be given the space it deserves within the wider story of the union and the empire. Much respect.

@DavidOlusoga @BBCTwo @BBCiPlayer Thank you for the clarification. I appreciate that you covered Ireland in a previous series, but its omission here still creates the impression that the empire began overseas rather than within the British Isles.

#OnThisDay 1652 The 'To Hell or to Connacht' Act (officially the Settlement of Ireland Act) passed in the Rump Parliament in London, following Cromwell's war in Ireland. Catholic land ownership plummeted across the island as it was forfeited to adventurers. #Ireland #History

Ignoring everything done to Ireland before 1800 for a second. The "Irish" parliament rejected the act of union but the British came in & bribed, cajoled or threatened until they had a majority, with promises of Catholic emancipation. Promises that were immediately broken. 1/
