At 40, I agreed to marry a man with a disabled leg. There was no love between us. On our wedding night, I trembled when I lifted the blanket and discovered a shocking truth.
I am Mabel, 40 years old.
My youth slowly faded through a series of unfinished love stories some men betrayed me, others only saw me as a temporary stop.
Each time my heart broke, my mother would look at me with sadness in her eyes and say,
"Sarah, maybe it's time to stop chasing perfection.
James next door is a good man. He may walk with a limp, but he has a kind heart."
James, our neighbor, is five years older than me.
He injured his right leg in a car accident when he was 17.
He lives with his elderly mother in a small wooden house in the quiet town of Burlington,, and works as an electronics and computer repairman.
He is quiet, a little clumsy, but always carries a gentle smile.

"Yes, I'm sure!"
James took no time.
He just reached out and took my hand a warm, gentle grip, as if the whole world outside had melted away.
It was the handshake that made me believe in love again.
From that day on, I no longer felt lonely.
James was still a limping man, still more silent than talking, but he was the strongest shoulder in my life.
Every morning, he made coffee for me, and I baked bread for him.
We never said the word "I love you", but every little action was filled with love.
Once, when I saw him fixing an old radio for a neighbor, I suddenly realized:
Love doesn't have to come early, it just has to come to the right person.
And perhaps, the most beautiful thing in a woman's life is not marrying someone in her youth, but finding someone who makes her feel secure even if it's late 💔

@investigator_ug As you held the bull by the horns, it clearly had its tail in a spin. Looks like it's finally cornered.

The UHRC Files…
Somewhere in the Bible, a story is told where, God ordered Jonah to go to Nineveh and preach to the wicked people there. Not buying God’s idea of pardoning them wicked lads, Jonah instead fled to Tarshis.
God was not taking any of Jonah’s disobedience. A shark swallowed him and he spent three days in its stomach, repenting. Indeed, the shark spew him back onto the dock. He started preaching with hardships but they kept repenting.
“Yalagula nga eno beenenya,” so goes the line in one of Luganda songs of the above story…
Back here, Sources called upon us to preach sanity to the people at UHRC. Looking at it, we were overwhelmed by the rot in-there and we looked down in withdrawal! The source said we had been bought out! The gun not for hire felt assaulted. We chose to grab the bull and the cow at the center, by their horns….
As they threatened us with all tribes of sijui law suits and criminal charges, we preached deeper and louder… as we preached on, they became a little remorseful… As we preached higher and louder, they are becoming repentant…
Last night (as always) Commissioner Kaheru’s assistant, returned the generator back to UHRC the stores. The same Mr. Crispin Kaheru already returned the UNCHR Land Cruiser (Had Body), with not plates though! A good gesture indeed 🤏🏾
Kati awo we shall respond to their intention to sue notice, with ease…

I need advice. My man, who has been working in Ghana, sent me ₦3 million to buy foodstuffs because he plans to come home and spend the holidays with us. I went to the market immediately and bought a lot of groceries and other useful household items.
When I got home, I took pictures of everything and sent them to him, showing him what the money was able to get. I even had to add some of my own money to buy a few extra things.
But instead of understanding, he got angry, started insulting me, and accused me of lying. I tried to explain that food prices in Nigeria have gone up a lot, but he refused to believe me and is now demanding that I refund his money.

I just found out that whenever i leave for work, my security man takes my key from where i keep it, opens my door and puts stuff like drinks/water in my fridge and takes them out before i come back. I left the house this morning and came back because i forgot something i was supposed to give to someone. I opened my fridge and i saw stuff that i didn’t put there. I asked him and he admitted to it. I don’t even know how to feel about it.
