A candidate was supposed to join us on Monday. He emailed us yesterday asking us to match the offer of the other company - it was higher by almost 2 Lakhs. We responded to him immediately that we can't do that - and if he's not interested, we'll withdraw our offer. If he wants to join based on our original offer, we're looking forward to having him onboard. He responded - "I will join the other company" and we withdrew our offer. Apparently, he played the same trick at the other company showing our offer letter & asking them to bump it up. Coincidentally, I know the founder of that company & since he showed our offer letter to them, they reached out to us. We told them - we're not hiring him. If they want they can. They too got fed up of his constant negotiations & rescinded his offer. And the candidate now reached out to us to onboard him based on our original offer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Only if such candidates realised that they can always get a 'job' which pays them more, but they can't build a 'career' with such bargaining skills.

Biker brushed my car trying to squeeze in between my car and the side wall of a flyover. He just ran away before I realised what had happened. The cost of replacement is quoted as ₹20,000. And people are arguing not to worry when bikers graze the car and damage it.

कुछ लोग यूपीएससी पास नहीं होते इसलिए दुखी है । कुछ लोग सिलेक्ट तो होते है लेकिन IAS नहीं मिला इसीलिए दुखी है । कुछ लोग IAS तो बन जाते है लेकिन होम कैडर नहीं मिला इसीलिए दुखी होते है । इसका मतलब ये है लोग परिस्थितियों से दुखी नहीं है, लेकिन वे खुद दुखी रहनी की वजह ढूंढते है । ये मेरे निजी विचार है आप असहमत हो सकते हो ।

Mahindra is the leader in SUV market. Very glad that an Indian company has made it. I bought XUV 700 last year. Very good vehicle and enjoyable to travel. At the same time, I've to share this. There are occasional problems which keep happening. The service centre is very cooperative. But they find it to difficult to narrow down and identify the problem. Same I hear about Tata Vehicles too. I very much want both Mahindra and Tata to succeed. But their quality is yet to be on par with say a Japanese or Korean or German technology. Some times I feel I should have gone for Toyota Hycross. Yesterday Mahindra service centre has assured me that no further problem would occur. If it keeps happening, the only option for me is to take the painful decision of selling XUV 700 and buying Hycross.
