In a bid to beautify and culturally enrich Delhi’s public spaces, Hon’ble LG Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena has led the installation of artefacts and sculptures across the city, crafted by artisans from different parts of the country. Over 150 sculptures including that of Konark Wheel, Chhatris, Horse Family, Yakshinis, Vighnaharta, Elephant Family, Lions, Buddha, Surya, Nandi and Tortoise have been installed. Similarly, 150 fountains of various dimensions, shape and designs were installed at identified locations. Please watch this special film by Discovery @DiscoveryIN highlighting this remarkable initiative!

Please watch this short film made by the renowned Discovery Channel, being played on the channel today. It brings to the fore, Delhi’s heritage, once lost beneath years of neglect, filth, and overgrowth. Steadily being brought back to life under the diligent guidance of Hon’ble @LtGovDelhi Shri VK Saxena through the dedicated efforts of the DDA @official_dda & ASI @ASIGoI, we have revived forgotten gems, restoring them from degradation to grandeur. In Sanjay Van Park- the site that once seated the Tomar Dynasty & the last Hindu King of Delhi Prithviraj Chauhan, history and nature come alive—Rajaon Ki Baoli, the King's Fort and an ancient well among others, are now part of scenic nature walks and eco-activities. Once in ruins, Balban’s Tomb, Jamali Kamali Mosque, and the newly established Mehrauli Interpretation Centre now stand as symbols of pride and cultural renaissance. Mehrauli Archaeological Park is no longer just a site; it is a vibrant space for reading, eco-friendly cafés like 'Cafe Stone', board games & recreation with rejuvenated water bodies. St. James Church, a grand relic of Delhi’s colonial past, has also been restored. These sites are no longer just isolated pieces of history; interactive initiatives, guided walks & cultural events are now connecting people to their heritage like never before. This short Discovery film offers a glimpse into these preservation efforts. These monuments are not just remnants of the past; they embody our shared history. Their conservation is a collective responsibility—one that invites us all to appreciate, protect, and take pride in our heritage.
