@ipodmacbook I love the composition of that first shot. To have one side glowing with light while the other pulls you into the darkness. The contrast works so well.

no center compositions (avoids putting subject in gutter on a 2 page spread), each half of the photo has it's own composition, obeys rule of thirds, understands negative space has compositional weight that has to mirror subject's if image is divided in half. this is incredible

@_josecarvajal_ yeah i did that recently, luckily this was a test and they know they're not allowed to edit anything and were just experimenting. but yeah it's the wild west out here

@ipodmacbook Dude I saw this post on IG yesterday recommending every freelance photographer to add anti-AI clauses to every contract, just in case so you can avoid this shit happening, and the struggle is so real

@BrownsLaws maybe and maybe not. i can be more discerning in the future. but cynicism can turn into fantasizing about the worst possible outcome and convincing yourself it's reality, and i cannot allow myself to descend into that

@sickbl4d3z it's nasty. i recently told a client the rights to the photos is one cost and the rights to my identity is also that cost on top, or i can just sign an image release form for free. and they were like why does this matter so much to you, and no. lmao

@ipodmacbook jfc. I don’t do ad work personally but I’m adjacent to it now after nearly two decades as a visual journalist and it’s all hell.

@sickbl4d3z i think they were just over eager. if ur curious how bad it is though, on ad jobs i keep getting contracts that ask for ownership of my name, voice, bio, and likeness for all usages across the universe in perpetuity. so they can film iphone bts. lmao
