Dragalia was my only other Gacha that I played & spent money on... I loved it so much. The art and collabs was always phenomenal. Unfortunately it seems I am cursed for gachas because my other serious Gacha is Ever Crisis and that is EoSIng in its 3rd year 🤣🤣🤣💦
Brother Ming 🔜 ANYC #1951@BrotherMingGame

Have not seen anyone post THE ABSOLUTE SICKEST Fire Emblem remix to ever exist thanks to Dragalia Lost. FE did not do alot of crossovers into other games so this was such a special treat and they went feral with this song.

Even if a customer were to have accepted the circumstances at the time, the moment they see their bill and the results of it, they would likely feel differently. From what I am seeing though, this is a solvable issue. In my case I used what is basically Stripe's services through an app called Pay Now. By setting it to AUD on charging, even if I received it in CAD, the conversion occurs on my side, so I am the one being hit with fees. All the research I've done is telling me that it shouldn't affect the customer. That being said, I wasn't making a conscious effort to do this. In my head, it is easier to tell someone what it is in AUD than constantly googling the converted price on my phone to my own currency. The idea that people would be dealing with crazy int. fees on top wouldn't even cross my mind. Especially more so because in US (I'm from Canada) whenever I tell people running card would include a % tax, they would still choose to run the card over the cash they have.

Density, as in most of us don't know just how many int. Vendors were actually accepted, let alone how many of them are using which processor. Int. Fees on their own wouldn't be a problem if it was just one or two purchases, but if a customer gets hit with them enough times, it adds up to a pretty big sum + potential card closure.

Just a clarification on this but Square is region locked 😂 You need to have a bank account in the country + whatever Id info from that region. Most artists when conducting trade outside of their country uses Stripe or a local processor that allows international use. Because of this, in the latter case, some readers only charge in their origin currency.
FakeGamerGirl@FakeGamerGirl6

@277yen It’s the system they use. I overheard one of them explaining cause the system charges USD they do it- why don’t they use square?

This + PayNow app that also uses the Stripe system. You can set it to AUD but it would require manual input (what I was doing) QR codes are a method but whenever customers needed to do anything on their end I find they had difficulty with wifi/data...if you can sort it out from your app, it is probably the best way 🥲

Stripe lets you make a QR code and charge in a different currency, the customers just have to scan and input the amount and pay via their own phones, its tedious but much better than having customers pay international card fees and risk getting chargebacks

@ippus Got a running joke with my gf that every game I REALLY get into is destined to EOS like Dragalia, Omega Strikers and Maple Story 2 just to name just a few lol

Same really 😭 I do know friends who have int. Payment processors but usually those are locked to their initial currency. In those cases they always convert their prices down in their home currency and explain to the customers what they are doing. I don't know anyone who would straight up lie about their prices... That is so insane 😭

I do not disagree. I do however think everyone has a different concept of what is 'solved' and that is why the expectations are so mismatched. For foreign vendors (generally); being able to accept currency & card, on WIFI/data that doesn't die, with nothing fucking up the systems is our primary concern. A lot of us book a spot, take a spot, and come in with the options that we have access to that could convenience our customer. Most of us have have no idea what the density of foreign vendors are in the convention, let alone what it looks like when most of them are doing the same thing to a local person's bank account. You are coming at me like the only conversation going around is about people listing one price in what -looks- like AUD currency only to rugpull the currency on card readers as USD. Which I will say for your benefit- in no uncertain terms- that is a scam. They shouldn't do it. I have no idea why they think it is acceptable and they should fuck right off. But it isn't. There are people who are upset that they were charged in -any- currency that isn't AUD at all, because there are additional transaction fees, as well as the possibility of their cards getting locked due to the wildly fluctuating purchases. Some are even calling CAD a scam when the conversion rate is basically 1:1. In such cases the question becomes "why is it that any other currency is entering the picture at all", especially when options like Square- a portable POS seen all over the country- exists. I am answering that question. I hope that was sufficiently enough context and intent for you.

@ippus Difficulties with systems is something that I feel (personal opinion) needs to be troubleshot/solved prior to vending in a different country. May I ask what the original clarification meant to achieve in regards to this situation (genuine question)?

to international artists selling at conventions like smash in australia: you can register PayID through Wise and customers can pay you AUD through your linked email. alternatively, stripe allows you to create QR codes and payment links in all supported currencies.

@Jengaad I do not know why you are taking one clarification and treating it as if I am justifying something else. I even replied to other people about this on the very same thread before you showed up to insinuated this. Maybe not shotgun reply about my intentions...?

@Jengaad I have other twts about this. There is also more than one conversation going on about this that isn't just about the falsely displayed currency. There are people getting frustrated that at the end of the day they are getting additional int. fees that stack up.

@ippus @hitsukuya My first message was only in the scope of physical cash, because even though a lot of ppl charge usd for CC, i think MOST people accept local cash, not this person. But I wanted to add they did accept digital to answer your follow up question of who would buy.

@VT_Rune My other sentiments on this situation 😭 there is definitely a lot of things involved I feel, and most people are getting a bit muddled on the aspects, but ultimately the issue seems to also occur here in my local cons (Canada) and it's real shady.
Ippus ✧ 이나영 ✦ ✦ Anime Revolution Vendors@ippus

Holy shit the comments on this 💦 People are so audacious 😭 How do you charge when it's cash purchase then...? Do they convert?? Or is there a huge difference between card and cash???
