@BigFish3000 This is so misleading that it may as well be called a lie, but it's probably not that Peterson is lying so much as that he's so fucking stupid he just repeats any dumb crap people tell him.

Jordan Peterson on Canada’s socialism experiment. Canada’s richest province Ontario would be the poorest state in terms of GDP per capita behind Mississippi. (note) This is the direction the Democrats want to take us to.

@Tori69457524241 "Who voted for this trash" Most of us. The Liberals are much more popular than the Conservatives overall.

The opportunity is already there. Canada doesn’t lack investment, talent, or ambition it’s being held back by overreach and unnecessary barriers. Let Canadians build. Let businesses grow. Let the economy breathe. Leadership means removing obstacles not creating them. Turning Point Canada stand with the conservative and Pierre Poilievre! Turning Point Canada 🇨🇦 Faith • Family • Freedom We Stand on Guard for Thee. #cdnpoli #CanadaFirst #LeadershipMatters #EconomicGrowth #WeThePeople #TPCAN #StandOnGuard

The business case, investment, and wealth? It already exists. We just need Liberals to get out of the way.

@KellyDeRidderMP Trump violated CUSMA and called it irrelevant and said literally there's nothing we could do to make him lift tariffs on us. Months later: "it's bad to trade to China because we might upset the US, we need to strengthen CUSMA" ???

Canada should be focused on protecting and strengthening CUSMA, not making decisions that put it at risk. Importing 49,000 EVs from China while the U.S. bans them over security concerns doesn’t just raise serious questions, it puts our auto sector and our trade relationship in a tough spot.

@JakeLandauTO The dilemma, which Carney addressed publicly, is that if you don't ease up on environmental policies, people vote in Conservatives, and they'd slash environmental regulations way more than Carney had to. So in this case it is pragmatism, not negligence.

@BudrinoPolitics Yes, politicians always do things other than what they campaigned on. No, his majority was not stolen. No, having a party majority doesn't mean you can do anything you want with no consequences. Don't post talk about politics if you don't know or understand any of it.

Mark Carny did not campaign on selling off public airports This is why his stolen majority is so important. He’s able to do whatever with no consequences

reminds me of the Star Trek episode "measure of a man" where they can't prove Data has consciousness, but they also couldn't prove any of us have consciousness in a way that didn't seem to apply equally to Data (ergo we couldn't exclude him from having rights based on that)

based on his tweet, headline, and article intro (full thing is paywalled), my guess is Dawkins does not think Claude is conscious, his point is going to be he finds it difficult to prove it's not, and this raises questions.

@theserfstv Canada is not starving Cubans, and what's being reported on here is not about the status quo in Cuba.

@hecubian_devil No, most people don't care and would see this as a massive waste of resources. The most common sense answer to this "problem" is to do nothing, because it's not a real problem and doesn't need to be "solved".

@BestStephenD @avilewis @MarkJCarney @PierrePoilievre As is apparently the norm everywhere now, the centre and centre-left will be the adults who actually govern their countries, while the right-wing gets to spend all its time whining and lying and the far-left spends all its time nitpicking the centre left.

There's no cogent case to be made for @avilewis trying to win a seat in the House of Commons until the next election, likely in 2029. Both Prime Minister @MarkJCarney and Opposition Leader @PierrePoilievre have degraded the House of Commons into farce. Nothing important--apart from formal votes--transpires there anymore. Question Period is a social media clip production operation, nothing more. Better that Lewis remain outside of the Commons, traveling across the country beating the progressive drum and exposing Carney for the very right wing conservative that he is. Better that Lewis introduce himself, in person, to progressives across Canada whom Carney has betrayed. thestar.com/politics/polit…

@RealChadEros Isn't that like half the population? It's also the heart of Canada as a nation historically, where it all started and where our capital and largest city are. So yeah, it all checks out that if it's this triangle vs. everybody else, the triangle should get its way.

This you? “We need a serious leader as PM, Carney by a mile.” You helped sell him as the serious adult in the room. Now you’re shocked he governs like a technocratic fiscal manager instead of an NDP activist with a Bank of Canada pin. That’s the problem with voting for vibes. You wanted “serious.” You got austerity with better tailoring. Carney was never some working-class social democrat. He was always an elite institutional operator: central banks, global finance, climate capital, managed markets, and spreadsheet politics. None of that was hidden. So spare us the theatrical surprise. You backed him when he was useful against Conservatives. Now he’s doing what technocrats do: trimming promises, managing optics, protecting the system, and leaving ordinary Canadians stuck with the bill. You didn’t get betrayed. You got exactly what you voted for.

@dantypo If I recall the majority of minimum wage workers are over 30, the characterization of it as being for high school kids or whatever is just not reality at all.
