Let’s walk through it 👇 1️⃣ Position till Feb 28, 2026: Taxable Income = 6,515,542 Annual Tax Liability = 1,461,440 Tax Already Deducted = 974,296 Per Month Tax Deduction = 121,787 Remaining Tax (Mar–Jun) = 487,144 So far, everything was normal and proportionate. 2️⃣ March event (bonus impact): Bonus Received = 4,011,233 Revised Income: 6,515,542 + 4,011,233 = 10,526,775 This bonus significantly changed his annual tax position. 3️⃣ Revised tax position: Total Annual Tax Liability = 3,123,255 Previous Remaining Tax = 487,144 Additional Tax on Bonus ≈ 1,661,815 Total Remaining Tax ≈ 2,148,959 4️⃣ What actually happened in March salary: Tax Deducted in ONE Month = 1,787,602 ➡️ Effective impact: ~45% of the bonus wiped out in tax. He was shocked and assumed a payroll error. I told him: there is no mistake — this is exactly how the tax system works for salaried individuals in Pakistan and this is what the left with after working for 8-9 hrs daily.
