Inflation surged in March due to the war in Iran. Inflation jumped 0.9% in March alone (the highest one-month gain since June 2022) CPI inflation is now 3.3% -->highest since May 2024. Here's what really jumped in March: Gas: +21% in March alone Fuel oil +31% Airfares +3% Ship fares 1.4% These seem clearly tied to the war in Iran. There are other categories that are still showing some likely impact from tariffs (or other industry specific factors such as tomatoes). Tomatoes +15% Nondurables (excluding food/drink): +6% Computer software 4% Toys 2% Peanut butter +2% Women's apparel +2% Moving 2% Tax prep 2% Pet supplies 1.7% Fresh fruits and veggies +1.4% Tools +1.4% Motor vehicle repair +1.3% Parking and other fees 1.1% Sporting events 1.1% Household insurance 0.9%

Hashmi: Why I voted yes cardinalnews.org/2026/04/07/has…

Former Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R): “I have more to give. I just do… Every morning I woke up literally bounding out of bed, ready to roll. And that was the most purposeful I’ve ever felt in my whole life — ever felt in my whole life. I’ve been out of office for six weeks. I took Suzanne on vacation, which she so deserved—she’s been amazing, and she’s one of the best first ladies in America. But six weeks has felt like six years. I mean — I’m just champing at the bit.” Sean Hannity: “But you have a good relationship with Trump? Have you talked about maybe going in?” Glenn Youngkin: “We do. I do — I do. So, what he and I talked about before I was done was me finishing. And I always deeply respected him because he believed that when I told him I needed to finish, that I was committed to it, and he was going to let me do it. And so that was one of those moments where he reminds us that he hears you and he respects what you’re saying, and I always appreciated that.”

Delighted that Governor Abigail Spanberger will deliver the Democratic response to the State of the Union address. Dedicated Public Servant. Mom. National Security Professional. Champion for working families and the Middle Class. Big difference between @GovernorVA’s relentless focus on the affordability crisis. And the failed economic policies of this President.
