@Cyb3rMaddy It's nuanced. OSI was suits in geneva who didn't want to dirty themselves writing code. TCP/IP was hippies & squadies who believed in "rough consensus and working code". I was taught OSI. TCP won. Hated networking as an UG. Love it now. But I'm old :)

1/ Very odd and fishy programme on Panorama this evening focusing mostly on illegal motorbikes masquerading as "E-Bikes". Presented by Adrian Chiles who starts the programme saying he has never ridden an E-Bike before. 🐟

@humphbecket Whilst I've seen some electric motorcycles which are range comparable to ICE. This is silly - "meant to stop every 2 hours" is nonsense (other than commercial). I'll happily empty a tank on 4 wheels (~9 hours) without stopping.

I’ve got a trip to Manchester coming up next month. Driving my EV for 4 hours and 45 minutes will only need a 14 minute stop. Given you’re meant to stop every 2 hours this shows that public charging does not add any additional time or inconvenience to your journey

I remember a time when one income could buy a house, support a family. When you knew your GP and ambulances arrived within minutes, we all had dentists, and we had clean beaches to visit. Now we have food banks and warm banks, a housing crisis and people living pay cheque to /1.

@LeeJarvis10 Not where I am (Pontypool). George Street Primary/West Mon comp did a decent job. The local clubs did better though.

The schools are a major problem. Unless you have a teacher that's into rugby at primary or secondary school, you have no rugby at all. Two of my biggest influences for my rugby were my primary + high school teachers, who taught me everything about the game. Those roots are gone.

@joinson Ran the numbers of heat pumps/solar etc when energy prices went crazy. Most cost effective solutions were upgrading the stove to dual fuel (anthracite if far more cost effective than wood), and a modern gas boiler. Electric solutions need to be cost effective.
