NEW: Utah's Morgan Scalley to @PeteNakos on Kyle Whittingham leaving for Michigan and leaning on Utah connections: "Did I know he would go to Michigan? No. Did I feel like he could go coach somewhere? One hundred percent. He’s a good coach. And if I’m in Kyle’s shoes, he’s got to do what he feels is best for Michigan. So, of course, he’s going to lean on contacts. He’s going to lean on what he knows. He knew our players, he knew our coaches, and he knows the recruiting environment here in Utah. That’s just him trying to do what’s best for Michigan. I can’t sit there and fault him." Exclusive: on3.com/news/morgan-sc…

@RBuckeyeOSUFan As of May, I’d say no. Too many unknowns with this staff & the talent. Wouldn’t be shocked, if they have a losing season, no blowouts though. 💀 to 🔫: Floor is 7-5, ceiling is 10-2.

Being against a 24-team playoff is a luxury of the rich. @JoshPateCFB It’s easy to argue for “preserving college football ” when you’re in a conference that has meaningful access to the postseason. Obviously that mainly applies to the Big Ten and SEC. If you’re in the Big 12 or ACC, you essentially don’t have access so why would we argue against expansion? College football already looks nothing like the sport I grew up with. If it’s going to be different either way, I’d at least like to participate in it.

The Playoff is NOT expanding, says @MattHayesCFB "The (SEC) will not do it. They are at the point, alright, we are Sparta. "We are 300, you guys are the Persian Empire, and we are going to win." Full chat: youtu.be/olg-VhkXDt0

@TheHerdBros Make sense. Ohio has a huge overall following and Indiana has an even larger alumni base. Throw in all the casual midwestern fans + sprinkle in nationwide die hard sports fans regardless of affiliation & this number is logical

Indiana vs Ohio State was the most-watched Conference Championship Game in CFB history. 18.33 million. The result changed nothing. Same ranking, both teams in the CFP with a BYE. Why was this the most watched conference championship game EVER if the result “didn’t matter?”

From 250 miles above Earth, most of the United States blurs together into a continental mass of brown and green with no obvious landmarks. Then Michigan appears and the confusion stops completely. The mitten shape of the Lower Peninsula surrounded by four of the five Great Lakes is one of the most distinctive geographic features visible from the International Space Station, a natural outline so clean and so recognizable that astronauts have confirmed it repeatedly as one of the clearest views of any state from orbit. The Great Lakes are what make it work. Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie create a water to land contrast that defines Michigan's borders with a precision that no cartographer could improve on. The mitten sits in the middle of all that blue like it was placed there deliberately, which in geological terms it essentially was, carved out by glaciers over thousands of years into a shape that somehow ended up being both geographically functional and immediately identifiable from the edge of the atmosphere. Michigan residents have been using their right hand as a map their entire lives and that same gesture works from space, which is not something any other state can say. Astronauts have photographed Michigan more than almost any other state passing beneath them because the view rewards it every single time. For a state already sitting on the greatest freshwater system on the planet, being unmistakable from 250 miles up is simply Michigan being exactly what it has always been. Impossible to miss. Even from space.

The goalpost moves with 24. You think Ohio State would trade the Michigan win for a natty? Nope. If a coach has players that aren’t 100% healthy and the CFP starts a week or two later. They will sit.
centxhank 🌵@centxhank

@georgewrighster Anyone who truly believe coaches will rest players in a 'rivalry' game has no clue as to what those games mean. Coaches lose their jobs over those games, passionate fans can't stand losing to their rival. You honestly think any Ohio State or Michigan fan would tolerate that?

This is a 10 yr old take. Why do you think we’ve seen so many new teams in the playoffs? Why we’ve seen 4 different champions in 4 years? The talent is spreading out with NIL and portal movement
Barry Jones@brightball

@dannykanell 4. Realize that there are not enough top tier OL/DL to go around and that without them teams aren’t playing in the same weight class. Any given year 1-3 teams have the talent at the LOS to have a chance so you’re campaigning for 20 participation trophies.

Mexican Pilot Rafael Pacheco Pérez During His 1976 Flight: This is not Rafael. We come to you from another planet. We are using his body as a microphone. You need to understand that your species is on the brink of destruction because of nuclear weapons. The 23 year old student pilot was on a short practice flight near Mexico City when thick fog suddenly rolled in. His plane controls became completely unresponsive. He could not descend or turn the aircraft no matter what he tried. As he radioed air traffic control for help he began losing consciousness and blacked out. When Rafael woke up the fog had vanished. His plane was now flying level over open ocean in every direction. An hour had passed and he was hundreds of miles from where he should have been. Air traffic control in Acapulco had tracked him the entire time and was frantically calling his name. During that missing hour the radio recording captured his voice changing into a deep garbled tone that was clearly not his own. The entity speaking through him delivered the chilling message above while air traffic controllers listened in real time. They later described being deeply unsettled by what they heard. Rafael remembered nothing of the transmission or the events while he was unconscious. He regained control, landed safely, and was immediately approached by government officials. He never flew again. The audio recording of the incident still exists today. Reports claim Mexican authorities once tried to bury the case in official archives.

@georgewrighster No one cares about the regular season in the NFL 🤔 Players being rested, 😂 sure- because Ohio & Michigan fans wouldn’t riot, if that happened. OG fans would stop watching 🤣 cuz men would rather mow the lawn or fix something than watch football 🧐 all day. 😐

Here are 4 reasons 24 team CFP is an awful idea from somebody who was all for expansion to 8 or 16: 1. Coaches will rest players in rivalry games if they are already guaranteed a playoff spot. 2. You ONLY want teams in CFP that can win 3. Foolishly believe ACC/Big 12 will get more of additional 12 than SEC/Big Ten. They will lobby until they get 16 of 24 slots. 4. Fans are frustrated w/12 team rankings and sure how can ADs etc have time to watch all these teams. Image them having to rank 40-50?

The loudest voices against expanding the playoffs seem to fit some of the following categories 1. Grew up in the 90’s 2. SEC fans. 3. Employed by ESPN Here’s why 👇👇👇

Deion Sanders had high praise for Browns GM Andrew Berry, calling him “phenomenal” at acquiring talent and saying Cleveland’s ownership genuinely wants to win. "You've got a GM that I adore. Like I really do. I think he gets it bad because he's a brother, for one. But secondly, because they had won but you've got to understand most of the time the GMs and head coaches are married together. But Mr. Berry, he's done a phenomenal job with acquiring talent. Phenomenal, to me. I love the ownership. They do care, they want to win. They really want to win. I know that for a fact. And I know the heart of Mr. Berry. He wants to win at all costs." Michigan and Ohio State may eventually rest players in The Game, according to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg 👀 Greenberg says that if College Football Playoff becomes too large, we could start to see stuff like this, due to teams having a potential of five playoff games. “If we live in a world where Ohio State and Michigan rest their starters for that game at the end of the season, because they’ve got the potential of five playoff games still sitting in front of them, then college football, as we have known it, ceases to exist.” - Mike Greenberg 🎥: @espn
