My friend just got fire by his new boss because he is old (34) and the company need new blood. He is a great tour guy. The company hired 3 new tour guy fresh out of school to replace him. And since beginning of March
- They lost many guests at the airport.
- They can't even be bothered to look up information about the tourist spots they take their guests to
- They even manage to get lost on their own at the tourist spots
-They promise refunds left and right, no questions asked
- Every single tour group they lead ends up with a ton of negative reviews
All those things make the entire company fed up and exhausted, and nobody wants to touch any tours led by those guys. Because if you're even remotely involved — even just handling some random paperwork — you'll get dragged down too, since customers leave bad reviews for the whole trip. That idiot moron of a boss fired three newbies again — just to bring in 6 more clueless fresh grads who don't even have licenses. And here my friend is, desperately job-hunting and getting nowhere. I really hope my friend gets a happy ending just like those Reddit story videos on TikTok.

The main program that starts and manages almost everything on modern Linux computers, “systemd”, recently added an optional "birthDate" field to its user database records. This stores a user's full birth date so apps can check age, for example, to comply with new age-verification laws in places like California, Colorado, and Brazil. It is not automatic age checking. Systemd only saves the date. Only admins can set or change it, but the user and some sandboxed apps can read it.

I realized something else AI has changed about coding: you don't get stuck anymore. Programming used to be punctuated by episodes of extreme frustration, when a tricky bug ground things to a halt. That doesn't happen anymore.

I’m building big apps to test the small ones.
I have:
- an auth/email service
- a logging service
- an multi-inbox manager
I need:
- a language learning app
So I’m going to build one next, and use it to test the first three.

Afaik, everyone goes back to checking out the whole repo multiple times.
Getting surprise blocked from checking out the same branch or main means always tracking who is on what branch. It’s annoying af.
