@nr_wolfman This! Which is why so many books use quotes from classics for their chapter epigraphs. But we need to be careful with translated works because a recent translation itself may be copyrighted, even if the original work is public domain. I use Gutenberg Project versions to be safe.

Seeing writers telling other writers it’s okay to quote movies, books, and songs in their books as long as it’s short and credited, and 😬😬🫣 No. That’s not how that works at all. Not for commercial fiction. (1/🧵)

@kwritesdark A lot of people also use doggy daycare. I don’t bc one of my dogs is fearful of big dogs.

@kwritesdark My husband and I both work hybrid so the days I commute he works from home and vice-versa. But if I lived alone, I’d hire a dog sitter to come by for an hour on the commuting days. (We have to use a dog sitter anyway when we travel.)

@jeanmare_gag Omg SAME!! Everything feels so fresh and sparkly in the morning, and I feel so inspired, esp in the hours following coffee hahaha! Then by late afternoon I’m drained. This is why I try to write in the mornings

The way I hate and question everything about my book by 5pm after editing all day and then in the morning after 2 sips of coffee THIS IS THE MOST BRILLIANT THING EVER and then a few hours later it’s trash again.
