@dijoni I dated a cop once and she told me they are trained to kill. Shoot center mass. They definitely didn't have to kill that woman though, she had stopped advancing towards them. Even though she had a knife she was no threat to them physically.

White girl, 17-year-old Katelynn Strate was shot in the head during a road rage incident by a black.
Doctors performed an emergency C-section just 30 minutes later, delivering her baby girl two months premature at 3 pounds 11 ounces.
Katelynn was kept on life support long enough for the delivery, but she sadly passed away afterward.
Police arrested 54-year-old Barry West, who is accused of firing the shot from his pickup truck.
West lied and claimed he believed Strate and her boyfriend had fired at him first, but investigators found he lied.

Actually, incidents like this have happened before. But what I just can't wrap my head around is how a husband could kill his wife, and then proceed to take the lives of his own two biological children. Even wild beasts wouldn't do that. I married him because he’s terrific. Not because he likes to read.
My now best friend and writing partner reached out to me after he read my series. We’re on our 2 and 3/4 novel.

Precious Bland is responding to critics after she was found not guilty by reason of insanity after she drowned her baby in a bathtub.
"My response to the comments is everybody needs grace, and what happened to me could happen to anybody, including those people who made those comments."
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has since responded to the ruling, saying his office will be drafting articles of impeachment against the judge.
"It’s time to impeach this judge. My office will be drafting articles of impeachment, and we look forward to working with all legislators who will support," Uthmeier said.

Mother who drowned her baby daughter and then blamed it on COVID, found not guilty by reason of insanity. 43-year-old Precious Bland said she drowned her baby in a bathtub due to a "psychotic episode" caused by COVID-19. Bland accused COVID of causing her to "baptize" her family members, allegedly telling them that "Jesus Christ is coming and COVID is going to kill us all." After drowning her 15-month-old in the bathtub, her husband tried intervening. Bland then stabbed him multiple times before stabbing their 16-year-old daughter. The husband and 16-year-old daughter were treated at the hospital. Judge Miguel de la O ultimately ruled that Bland did "not understand the nature" of her actions, finding her not guilty by reason of insanity. Insane.
