It is with deep shock and sorrow that ISEC has lost its founding member and Senior Director. Pat Bumstead died suddenly and unexpectedly (but thankfully in her sleep) a few weeks ago. We are all in shock here still; ISEC will however continue as before.

A mother lioness, her three cubs & a young male lion rescued from a private breeding facility in Ukraine are now safe from the exotic pet trade. @ifawglobal, Wild Animal Rescue, @UAnimalsENG & @PoznanZoo recently transported the lions out of war-torn Ukraine to a fresh start.

It's International Pallas's Cat Day! Pallas's cats are known for their thick fur, big ears, and grumpy expressions. Of the 37 wild cat species in the world, 28 are small in size, weighing less than 50 lbs.

Without a doubt my wildlife highlight of the year so far: not one, not two, not three but four swimming Leopard Cats (豹猫) today in Beijing. A mother and three well-grown kittens cross the lake as waterbirds look on.

Have you ever seen a Geoffroy's cat before? This small cat was caught on camera by Panthera partner photographer Sebastian Kennerknecht (@pumapix) in Ibera Provincial Reserve, Argentina. Sebastian's photography helps draw attention to this lesser-known species.

You’ve all played spot the Snow Leopard. Now let’s play spot the Pallas’s Cat. It’s no wonder these cats are hard to see in the wild. Photo by 徐征泽.

The Uruguayan #pampascat (Leopardus munoai) is only distributed in Uruguay, southern Brazil, and a small part of Argentina. The main threat is habitat loss due to the conversion of grasslands to soybean plantations. Thanks @mastogirl18 for the video youtube.com/watch?v=GPehXU…
