Our politicians continue to use the People as stepping stones. 28 of the 35 JLP MPs are in the Executive. 16 as Ministers & 12 as Junior Ministers. Jobs for the boys & girls. Who representing the constituents? Bullo-Slush Government! It is an abuse of the adapted Westminster system to have 80% of the House in the Executive. One of the Pillars of a liberal democracy is separation of powers. Because we chose Ministers from the Parliament the separation from the Executive is weakened. And when the Executive is this big the separation has been effectively removed. May I remind, Ministers are responsible for policy formulation, and from the standpoint of policy, Govt programs. Every Ministry has a whole bunch of Agencies and technocrats to execute policies & programs. Public Funds should not be used to fund the training of a cohort from which future Ministers are pulled. There is so much that is wrong with 80% of MPs pulled into the Executive. Finally, none of the 63 Constituencies have a publicly funded Office where constituents may go to see their Rep or to receive some other service. None. The Offices that exist are Party Offices in Party colours. The People elect MPs who choose the PM, who choose Ministers, including Juniors. Ministers & Juniors have Offices with staff to serve them. Who serving the People in the constituencies? Not even a place to go and see their MP. Bullo-Slush Government! Jobs for the boys and girls!
