Thrilled to share that we have successfully conducted a two-day webinar on the "Blue Economy in Bangladesh: Investment Possibilities for a Sustainable Economy in the New World Order." I was privileged to coordinate the webinar and moderate a session.

“Blue Economy in Bangladesh: Investment Possibilities for a Sustainable Economy in the New World Order”—a two-day webinar held on May 13–14,2025 which brought together experts who called for stronger governance, increased national and international investment, and more efficient financial management in Bangladesh’s Blue Economy. This webinar jointly organized by the International Research Center of SIMEC Institute of Technology and the Centre for International Development, Social Entrepreneurship and Leadership (CIDSEL) at the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia. In this webinar, fellows focuses on the formation of a National Coordinating Authority to act as a one-stop center for Blue Economy development, alongside better coordination among BIDA and relevant ministries. Sessions addressed investment opportunities, financial strategies, ocean health, and sustainability. Moderated by Dr. Sariful Islam , Co-ordinator, International Research Center, SIMEC Institute of Technology, with a valedictory speech from Dr. Md. Shariful Islam (Rajshahi University), the event concluded with a commitment by the fellows to prepare and submit a comprehensive policy brief to support the sustainable growth of Bangladesh’s Blue Economy. This webinar is a post-course part of the Australia Awards Fellowship program on Improving Research and Policy in the Blue Economy in Bangladesh, funded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Australia. 15 fellows from Government officials, researchers, academics, NGO representatives, scholars, and journalists with expertise in Bangladesh's Blue Economy participated in the webinar.
