Crime isn't down. Angelenos like my friend Harvey Levin have simply stopped reporting crimes because they've resigned to the fact that under Karen Bass, the inmates run the asylum, and nobody will enforce the law. This is why LA is voting for me.

The reason why I'm voting for @spencerpratt is simple. My two children are teenagers. For their entire lives, I've driven them past homeless encampments in West LA, Skid Row in DTLA, and tent cities in the valley. They've seen homeless people poop on the shoulder of the 405 freeway and people shooting up in front of houses. Like a broken record, I repeat the same story over and over. "It wasn't like this when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s." But for my kids, this is their "normal." If it got this bad from my time to their time, then what is it going to be like when they're my age?

FWIW, I know @spencerpratt — we met when I started following him after his transformation into citizen journalist & activist after the Palisades Fire destroyed his community, and I saw something special in him: a special passion & genuine commitment that are unmatched, and an ability to get things done. I urged him (as did others) to run. I was standing feet away when he made his surprise announcement to run in January (I was the one shouting “Mayor” just before he said it!). And when he began his campaign, I shared my thoughts with him on exactly how he can win — by staying on message, remaining issues focused, and visiting every inch of Los Angeles. I’m absolutely confident that with his passion plus the coalition he’s created, Spencer can and will succeed. I’ve know Mayors Bradley & Riordan, and I’ve worked as an intern in city hall. I’ve never met anyone like Spencer.

As a Democrat, I can admit I’ve been voting wrong. Look what Mayor Karen Bass has allowed to happen to Hollywood Boulevard. It’s not only disgusting, it’s an embarrassment. It’s much worse than the picture depicts.
