@richiemcilroy Good to know! I have a MBP M1 Pro Max 64GB and still running good. No agents. For this I think is better to build any local desktop with dedicated hardware.

a couple of months ago, I upgraded from a M1 Pro 32gb RAM, to a M4 Max 128gb RAM and honestly, it's made hardly any difference Rust builds still take a ridiculously long time battery dies within an hour or so with a couple of agents running and I'm still not running any local AI models

In few weeks, everyone with 128gb Mac will have uncensored Opus-4.6 locally. It will be Minimax-M3.0-JANGTQ-CRACK by @dealignai The open-source community is working hard on fitting them into 24GB VRAM. The future of Local LLM is so bright.

If you wanna run AI models locally, the best option is an RTX 6000 Pro. DON'T get a 5090/4090. And DON'T listen to people who hype the 3090; those cards are beat at this point. Get the RTX with education discount through Nvidia. These used to be $8000, now they're +$9000.

I normally don't need ac before late june. but running two DGX Sparks 24/7 literally turned my room into a sauna. had to turn the ac on already
